    Average Retail

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsCompany provides many different training tools to keep associates product knowledgeable and customer service savvy. Managers allow associates to try different aspects of the retail business for develop overall growth.

ConsThe associates are expected to sell credit.. However, after the initial training video, there were not many opportunities for further training and growth.

    My Experience Here!

Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) Friendswood, TX

ProsSome of the good things about working here was the discount and freebies I got and being in a nice work space with a locker to hold all your stuff.

ConsSome of the things that were no so good about working here was the hours. The biggest part was the pay rate which was really low and you have to wait and compete with lots of employees for higher pay rates.

Advice to Senior Managementlisten to your employees when it comes to their availability and keep in mind that employees have more than just a job in life.

After working for a few years with this company I have come away with this...

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)

ProsGreat coworkers, fun environment, rewarding to help customers, flexible schedules, working with products that people want

Consmanagement can be very poor and treat employees like lesser, uneducated beings

    Robinson Store is unorganized

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Robinson, PA

ProsAs a whole the company is great to work for. You get extra discounts on certain days, you get access to the gift bags, giveaways before customers and you get discounts at other stores that the Limited Company owns

ConsThe Robinson store is completely disorganized. The managers were never on the same page, scheduling was a disaster, and scheduling was a game of politics- if one manager liked someone more than someone else, they would be allowed to be sent home early first (even if the other person had been there longer) etc. etc. They would change your schedule and not tell you

Advice to Senior ManagementGet new management.

Its ok for a starting job.

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)

ProsIts a good starting job. It helps you learn better communication skills. This job will teach you to learn patience and to respect those working in retail.

ConsThe starting pay is terrible. There are petty cliques with smaller stores. There is also a lot of gossip and competition.

Advice to Senior ManagementHelp is needed with little stores!

"Not where I want to be for the rest of my life!"

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFun! you get to try a lot of the product for free or at super discount.

ConsNot a lot of opportunity for growth especially if they don't like your personality. Its all about politics and game playing.

    Sales Associate

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Raleigh, NC

ProsThe girls at my store were a family, there can be a good positive team work atmosphere. I also think our onboarding manager did a good job of training the group of girls that came on when I did.

ConsLeadership at my store was lacking, no good coaching rather very oppressive feedback. No security in job, and no way to move up.

Advice to Senior Managementleadership and teamwork is needed. Drama should stay at home.

    HIgh Management/Co-worker Turnover in 2009

Sales Associate/Cashier (Current Employee) Colonial Heights, VA

ProsIf you love to work in a fun atmosphere with great co-workers and great opportunities to learn about great merchandise this is a great place to start. At the time I started at the company I was a seasonal worker and had listed that I was available for all shifts, so I was scheduled to work about 6 times a week and was often called into work when a co-worker was not able to come in.

ConsIn 2009, there was high turnover in management at this location at time I was working with constant internal restructuring. Not a lot of employees were as committed to the store because most were college students at the nearby college and were often seeking other opportunities at their time of employment. The pay is low considering the work that is expected of you.

It was a good experience but it's just not what I was looking for.

Sales Associate/Cashier (Current Employee) Peoria, AZ

ProsYou learn what it's like to constantly be working with the public. There's not a second where you're not being asked a question or dealing with a customers problem. It's a very fast pace atmosphere.

ConsI'm not sure if it's this location in particular or if the entire company is run this way, but I hardly received hours. I would often find myself not working for several weeks at a time because "the system" didn't pick me up. The management has a hard time keeping their employee's in check as well.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
