Great company. Your experience really depends on your DM. We were told we had that our management did not represent city

Category Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time for more than 3 years

ProsSalary is good if you don't get promoted from within.

ConsNo work-life balance. Product changed very often, so you are always planning, mapping, executing and flexing merchandise. And in between all of that you have to make plan for your category, which is not impossible but you are going to feel dirty when you are pushing a bra that is launching instead of a bra she needs because you HAVE to make your numbers by any means necessary.

Advice to Senior ManagementThis company really sets some unrealistic expectations. It was like a circus sometimes. By noon, things could change. For a new company yes but for an established company they really would come up with a better game plan, especially if they expect flawless execution.

It has been somewhat educational.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time

ProsYou start to form a family with the one's you work with the most.

ConsHours can be intense at times, working over night or really early in the morning. Then there will be weeks without any hours. Hard to rely on this job to get the bills paid.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize those who do well in the store, whether in the back or on the sales floor. Work on how you schedule people.

Great experience to gain confidence and selling skills

Sales Associate (Current Employee)
Duluth, MN

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than a year

ProsThe discount
Refine selling skills or build the skills to talk to customers with confidence
Great atmosphere with knowledgeable management and friendly coworkers
Learn a lot about the business and brand image
Hours are flexible

ConsPay is not good for the amount of product knowledge and day to day selling activities you do. Have to know all bras by name and all the product technology, bra certification training, upselling tactics, and more knowledge if you are in the fitting rooms. They are now implementing trackers for associates with a goal of $250 that each associate has to add on to sales for their shift, without being paid on commission.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay should be increased, the discount and offers alone will not make people stay for the amount of knowledge that you have to know. Turnover is very high indicating that there's a problem with matching associate's needs to the company's.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than a year

ProsYou get the latest collections free. I also had the chance to get an additional 50% off PINK wear.

ConsIt is hard to advance. You have to be really flexible/working a second job to keep up with their complex hours. Depending on sales, they will completely take you off schedule.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees are suffering every time they fold panties that get messed up seconds later!
