I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores

    Pros

Rewarding environment, driven atmosphere, positive, possibilities are endless! Lots of incentives, gratis bras, panties, fragrance, and a nice discount. World class!

    Cons

Clientele can be a pain, but you get that with any retail location. Stress level is high, must meet goals. Dress code too strict. There's never enough product to sell.. which makes for grumpy guests.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When your manager wins a trip because the team was up to numbers, ex: top 100 stores fashion show trip, spa trip to Cali, etc. The team should get something, a token of appreciation from the company, even. Also should be allowed to take 2 from the team to brand conference so they can also pass along knowledge.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I loved this job. It was perfect for during college... An amazing management team, great gratises/deals for workers, awesome brand, but that's about where it ends. Most associates are just out of high school or finishing up a degree in college....

    Cons

The hours were really sporadic for my store, the whole idea of SPAH and the force towards becoming selling based have really affected my feelings about the job, also the management program is less than desirable, pay is only minimum wage until you work there longer and get a small bump up.... until minimum wage goes up and you make the same as new hires again.
Havng worked in a smaller level store, there weren't really full time positions other than holiday and management, which you can only apply for at certain times... To start the "AIM" program, you had to interview for it. If they didn't like you, you would get denied.

The training I received was wonderful. This training has helped me prepare for other sales jobs.

    Cons

The pay doesn't match the work and amount sold.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Back stock was always Sergio. Very disorganized.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

In a high volume store, this job is never boring, and there is always something to be done. The atmosphere is fun, and as a sales support associate you're usually the first employees to see new merchandise before it hits the sales floor.
It's easy to request time off, view the schedule, change your availability, and view upcoming paychecks through
LBrands' Access & ACES websites. The website also has a mail application, so communicating with your supervisors about your schedule is simple.
The discount is nice-- 20% initially, and after 60 days it gets bumped up to 30% for part-time employees and 40% for full-time. Around holidays, there's a week when you get an additional 10% off, in addition to whatever discount you already receive. About every other month it seems like there's a new employee gratis, so you can get new or promotional items for free or very cheap--- this is also great if you're cross-trained as a sales associate because you give customers your own personal testimony for why they should buy a product.

    Cons

The pay isn't great, and I've felt pressured to stay far past my scheduled shift to ensure that a task is completed. During holiday season it can be overwhelming, and nearly impossible to keep up with shipment processing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Because there are so many managers and supervisors in a single store, there are often communication breakdowns that happen between the higher-ups, especially with opening/closing managers. This can cause complications for the employees (time is mismanaged, tasks go uncompleted, work piles up to the point that it is overwhelming), so communication is essential.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fast pace , learning everyday , meeting new people and building relationships with other sales associates and shoppers

    Cons

Sometimes the work load is more then time allowed in a shift. The New SPAH incentive gets a little misunderstood between the sales associate

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep asking how you can get to next, focus on what you can do , meet deadlines , and show passion in your role.

    Pros

There are Good employee incentives given throughout the year and great training programs within this company for possible management positions.

    Cons

The aspect of my position that I didn't enjoy was dealing with the external shrink that my store would often encounter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more internship programs for associates looking to move into the corporate sector of the company

    Pros

getting to try new products before they are available to the public, fun "girly" camaraderie with co-workers

    Cons

rude and condescending customers, panty folding

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

relax on the dress code, part-time minimum wage positions should not require such strict dress codes, it is a burden to employees to spend so much of their money on work clothes.
