I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than a year

    Pros

As a whole the company is great to work for. You get extra discounts on certain days, you get access to the gift bags, giveaways before customers and you get discounts at other stores that the Limited Company owns

    Cons

The Robinson store is completely disorganized. The managers were never on the same page, scheduling was a disaster, and scheduling was a game of politics- if one manager liked someone more than someone else, they would be allowed to be sent home early first (even if the other person had been there longer) etc. etc. They would change your schedule and not tell you

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores

    Pros

Fun! you get to try a lot of the product for free or at super discount.

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth especially if they don't like your personality. Its all about politics and game playing.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The girls at my store were a family, there can be a good positive team work atmosphere. I also think our onboarding manager did a good job of training the group of girls that came on when I did.

    Cons

Leadership at my store was lacking, no good coaching rather very oppressive feedback. No security in job, and no way to move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

leadership and teamwork is needed. Drama should stay at home.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Its a good starting job. It helps you learn better communication skills. This job will teach you to learn patience and to respect those working in retail.

    Cons

The starting pay is terrible. There are petty cliques with smaller stores. There is also a lot of gossip and competition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help is needed with little stores!

    HIgh Management/Co-worker Turnover in 2009

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you love to work in a fun atmosphere with great co-workers and great opportunities to learn about great merchandise this is a great place to start. At the time I started at the company I was a seasonal worker and had listed that I was available for all shifts, so I was scheduled to work about 6 times a week and was often called into work when a co-worker was not able to come in.

    Cons

In 2009, there was high turnover in management at this location at time I was working with constant internal restructuring. Not a lot of employees were as committed to the store because most were college students at the nearby college and were often seeking other opportunities at their time of employment. The pay is low considering the work that is expected of you.

It was a good experience but it's just not what I was looking for.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time

    Pros

You learn what it's like to constantly be working with the public. There's not a second where you're not being asked a question or dealing with a customers problem. It's a very fast pace atmosphere.

    Cons

I'm not sure if it's this location in particular or if the entire company is run this way, but I hardly received hours. I would often find myself not working for several weeks at a time because "the system" didn't pick me up. The management has a hard time keeping their employee's in check as well.

    Pros

    Great product, good wages,

    Cons

Never enough hours to finish projects or service the customers. Upper management is always on your back about overspending payroll. Poor work/life balance. Too many promotions at one time is confusing to associates and customers.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are many great discounts, in addition to a good on-boarding program. The co-workers made my experience awesome, and monthly meetings truly set the goal high for the company. Some managers were extremely pleasant and understanding, making you feel at ease all the while learning. You can leave exactly when your shift ends (unless you're CSL, or manager), and requesting time off is reasonable.

    Cons

The on-call shifts are a bit frustrating--they schedule you for either two or four hours before or after, and you call in two hours before the scheduled time to see if you have to come in that time. It's a way for them to evaluate whether or not to give more hours, but it's difficult to plan your schedule around on-call shifts. Sometimes, your entire shift is an on-call which means that you're not even sure if you're supposed to work that day. Compensation is a bit low, but they offer a 30% discount and a free bra monthly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation should be a bit higher for the amount of work that is done. As a cashier, you still have to know about sales, folding, taking calls, putting go-backs away. Each position seems to handle all the roles at one, but maintaining their main role.

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, opportunity to try out different positions during holiday with pay increase, free or discounted merchandise monthly

    Cons

Takes a long time to get promoted even with a degree, pay is very low, too many women and can get catty at times, on call shifts leave you in limbo a lot which makes it hard to schedule things outside of work
