I have been working at Visiting Angels full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I like working one on one.. Angels allowed me to do what I enjoy doing.got me hours and was offered fill in positions often.

    Cons

concerns should be addressed seriously thus avoiding burnout. Felt like I was obligated to take client because they asked. need medical and millage, at least between clients. our employer doesnt change when we change clients. this should be time on the clock and millage should be included as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

dont be so pushy.begging to take a client because you have no one else available. and fake concern is an insult to your employees. we know when you are not listening to us and that is confirmed when nothing is done about the situation. please appreciate your staff... we are worth it....

I worked at Visiting Angels as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

As long as my client was living there were hours

    Cons

When clients decease they will not call and let you know if something else is available.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think it is not good for the upper management not to even call and let your staff no what is going on.

I have been working at Visiting Angels part-time

    Pros

Family owned .. management makes sure everything is done to their standards
Trainer was fun and made any issues we had seem pointless by working thru them with us

    Cons

Don't pay as much as other companies.. had to do a 16 hour training and then a orientation to be hired..because I didn't have my dl I couldn't work even though j never drove pt around or had them in my car at any time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to step there game up and pay higher wages ..give more assignments and reevaluate some of their policies

I worked at Visiting Angels part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

sounds like the employees like working with and taking care of people

    Cons

Can't believe they pay their employees so poorly! $5-$7.50 hr for being responsible for an ill person and spending sometimes 24 hrs with someone and getting no overtime pay or compensation? Poor communication! they management sounds like they don't care about the employees and aren't willing to make them want to make this a career. with reviews like I've been reading, I would never work for this company and not sure I would engage them to take care of my invalid dad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, take their suggestions to heart. Happy employees make good employees! Work with them, pay them better. Curious as to why your employees won't go to someone's home if there is a family member there?

I have been working at Visiting Angels

    Pros

The BEST reasons (which are MY reasons) to work for Visiting Angels, is the incredible experiences you have helping the elderly. ALL the HUGS, KISSES, & "THANK YOU's" that I receive from my Clients, MAKE MY DAY... EVERY DAY!! I know that my work is helping to make someone else's life easier & nicer ... and often means the difference of an older person being able to stay in their own home, or not!! .... & that MAKES THEIR DAY!!!

    Cons

I am not sure exactly what is happening currently, but there are OBVIOUSLY problems in the Office!! I've been told that the lady who does the scheduling, has been off sick ... & is now off, ... on vacation. No one else seems to be able to back her up!! (???) The couple of Office Workers, seem confused, untrained, "don't know how to do the scheduling" ... & appear to be VERY SHORT-STAFFED, etc. etc.!!! There are some SEVERE REAL PROBLEMS?!?!? I am NEW ... so I don't really have any other time(s), etc.to compare to .... but, I HAVE been in the workforce for over 15 years, held management positions, etc. ... & I've never seen any Business/Company so "CONFUSING"!!! I certainly hope this will IMPROVE SOON!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire MORE (& more competant??), Office Employees. Give SOME KIND of pre-training to your new hires that work in homes, etc. Get better ORGANIZED ... & appear more PROFESSIONAL!! THANK YOU!!

    I worked at Visiting Angels

    Pros

What Visiting Angels does is wonderful- the services they provide are so necessary and valuable.

    Cons

Not all Visiting Angels offices are run so poorly- this particular office is 2 years old and really needs someone who is committed to the mission of this company. There was no effective communication from the owner of this agency and policies and procedures changed almost daily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To focus on the mission of your company- to be fair to all employees and to properly compensate employees for the work they do. Set your policies and then abide by them
