Great experience until an admin employee conspired to have an employee terminated for personal reasons.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsMost office staff are most helpful.

ConsAdministrative rules do not apply to all employees. Company does not follow Or State Labor law when issuing final paychecks.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

I would not like to work with this Company again because of Schedulers and upper management.

    CNA (Former Employee) Dallas, GA

ProsAs long as my client was living there were hours

ConsWhen clients decease they will not call and let you know if something else is available.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think it is not good for the upper management not to even call and let your staff no what is going on.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

First job since I came to vegas but I should have searched around

PCG (Current Employee) Las Vegas, NV

ProsFamily owned .. management makes sure everything is done to their standards
Trainer was fun and made any issues we had seem pointless by working thru them with us

ConsDon't pay as much as other companies.. had to do a 16 hour training and then a orientation to be hired..because I didn't have my dl I couldn't work even though j never drove pt around or had them in my car at any time

Advice to Senior ManagementThey need to step there game up and pay higher wages ..give more assignments and reevaluate some of their policies

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    apparently not well run company

    Caregiver (Former Employee)

Prossounds like the employees like working with and taking care of people

ConsCan't believe they pay their employees so poorly! $5-$7.50 hr for being responsible for an ill person and spending sometimes 24 hrs with someone and getting no overtime pay or compensation? Poor communication! they management sounds like they don't care about the employees and aren't willing to make them want to make this a career. with reviews like I've been reading, I would never work for this company and not sure I would engage them to take care of my invalid dad.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees, take their suggestions to heart. Happy employees make good employees! Work with them, pay them better. Curious as to why your employees won't go to someone's home if there is a family member there?

    Not enough work hours

Caregiver (Current Employee) New Orleans, LA

ProsWorking with the elderly, they tell you all of their experiences.

    ConsSometimes they cut our hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep us working full times, we have bills to pay too.

It has been very dis-organized, so far.

Home Health Care (Current Employee) Hamilton, OH

ProsThe BEST reasons (which are MY reasons) to work for Visiting Angels, is the incredible experiences you have helping the elderly. ALL the HUGS, KISSES, & "THANK YOU's" that I receive from my Clients, MAKE MY DAY... EVERY DAY!! I know that my work is helping to make someone else's life easier & nicer ... and often means the difference of an older person being able to stay in their own home, or not!! .... & that MAKES THEIR DAY!!!

ConsI am not sure exactly what is happening currently, but there are OBVIOUSLY problems in the Office!! I've been told that the lady who does the scheduling, has been off sick ... & is now off, ... on vacation. No one else seems to be able to back her up!! (???) The couple of Office Workers, seem confused, untrained, "don't know how to do the scheduling" ... & appear to be VERY SHORT-STAFFED, etc. etc.!!! There are some SEVERE REAL PROBLEMS?!?!? I am NEW ... so I don't really have any other time(s), etc.to compare to .... but, I HAVE been in the workforce for over 15 years, held management positions, etc. ... & I've never seen any Business/Company so "CONFUSING"!!! I certainly hope this will IMPROVE SOON!!!

Advice to Senior ManagementHire MORE (& more competant??), Office Employees. Give SOME KIND of pre-training to your new hires that work in homes, etc. Get better ORGANIZED ... & appear more PROFESSIONAL!! THANK YOU!!

At this particular franchise- disorganized, chaotic, unprofessional owner

Client Care Manager (Former Employee) New Brighton, MN

ProsWhat Visiting Angels does is wonderful- the services they provide are so necessary and valuable.

ConsNot all Visiting Angels offices are run so poorly- this particular office is 2 years old and really needs someone who is committed to the mission of this company. There was no effective communication from the owner of this agency and policies and procedures changed almost daily.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo focus on the mission of your company- to be fair to all employees and to properly compensate employees for the work they do. Set your policies and then abide by them

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Good temporary job due to low weekly hours available.

    Caregiver/Companion (Current Employee)

ProsManagement is easy to contact and works with employees to correct any problem issues.

ConsDon't offer enough weekly hours which makes it hard to survive if you are self supporting and you have to sign a no competition clause so you can't look for extra work at any other agencies.
