    Pros

There is diversity within Vodafone and there is the chance to get to laterally connect with many different departments and countries.

    Cons

There are problems with being heard or respected at Vodafone. There are clicks in upper management like old boys club. It can be frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the portals for communication. It's widely accepted to not say anything for fear of repercussion or backlash.

    Pros

Brand, fast paced and extremely passionate people here.

    Cons

Perception management rules, not performance management. Promotions are often later, responbilities come way earlier.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR policies on paper very good, not in actual execution.

Former Employee - Senior Manager in Amsterdam (Netherlands)

    Pros

Dynamic environment where you are able to move around. Learning fast from capable colleagues

    Cons

Leadership is not taking any risk and does to much command and control. Too many vertical stovepipes in the company, leading to little progress and to many people wanting to have a say.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break down the organisational stovepipes, too much replication, in-efficiency and slow progress. Trust your employees to do the right thing, stop with command and control, start with servant leadership.

An example of the worst Leadership Behaviors & a culture that is consumed with Politics not merit.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to move globally if you can find the right sponsor, cash rich with many improvement projects allowing for career development. Flexible working policies.

    Cons

Career training and development budgets are not aligned, promotion is based on who you know not what you deliver or what potential you have. Lack of integrity across leadership team and a lack of support to remove barriers to improve service to customers. 90% of your productive time is spent playing politics even if you don't want to. A culture of meritocracy is now becoming non existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quote - "The only thing that can destroy iron is rust" - its time to change the culture and stop destroying the company from within. Adopt the principles of good leadership and reward people fairly on what they deliver.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Colleagues were amazing, large group and very welcoming to new staff, often met up outside of work

    Cons

    - Managers spend no time on shop floor and seemed hesitant to speak to customers when asked.
    - Changes often given at the last minute with little time to prepare
    - Inflexible with contracted hours and holiday - lots of petty arguments over this

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Become more of an equal and share some of the not so fun and easy work.
Accept that employees have a life outside of work, if they are on a day off and cannot come into cover do not use it against them!
