I have been working at Volt Information full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Small groups that overlap with other offices providing a good amount of support. Management is very supportive of reaching goals that you set.

    Cons

Base pay is lower than other agencies

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Roles outside of technical recruiting are not valued as much. Pay attention to team morale and treasure the employee that you have.

I have been working at Volt Information full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You can climb the ladder if you take inititative and reach out to managers of other departments and apply when they have openings. Don't expect to move up if you get comofortable and wait for them to tell your promoted. You have to fight for it and not give up if you dont get it the first time. I had to try twice until I was promoted to a new department.

People are great and if have a customer service attitude, then you will go far. Costumer service also goes for your co-workers.

    Cons

Old school approval process with VP signature needed for many things. Staffing industry does not provide significant benefits to workers and as a manager I am part of that problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline company directives, standardize training and development,

I have been working at Volt Information full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Volt is a staffing company. They helped me get an assignment at Apple Inc. where I was trained how to become a customer support representative. As a Volt contractor you will be offered a bank account with Amplify which is a great credit union. After your assignment ends, you can then contact your recruiter to find another assignment. You are paid every week which is very convenient. Another benefit is that you are paid for holidays if you meet the hourly requirements.

    Cons

Your assignment may end after a year. My assignment ended after one year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please set up direct deposit quicker. Also your employee website is very outdated, slow, buggy, and a headache to navigate through. We would appreciate an easy to navigate employee site. On the other hand, the IQ Navigator website is great and easy to use.

I worked at Volt Information full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I worked with several people at Volt Technical Information Services in Redmond during my a- contract with Microsoft, all of whom were invested in me and who made me feel important and worthwhile.

    Cons

People move up from places where they have achieved great training and experience, and that happens to Volt as well, several of the people I worked with there have moved forward with this great company on their resume.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I guess if I had to make a suggestion it would be that "career forward" be even more active in trying to line up previous talent with future contract positions with a clear upward path.

I have been working at Volt Information as a contractor

    Pros

Working at Apple Inc. is pretty easy. It's repetitive work, looking for bugs and fixing. You can use their transportation, which is pretty awesome. Managers/supervisors are very relaxed and cool about coming in early.

    Cons

Not able to use gym unless you're an employee of Apple. You don't get to advance. It's only a one year contract, if you're lucky, you'll get an extension to 3 months

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could use interview questions about being a team-player and communicative questions
