Great Company, Productivity driven and focused on Sales Growth

    Global Industry Manager (Current Employee)
    Annapolis, MD

ProsThe people at the company are great. For the most part the hours are flexible adn the work is challenging. The company is focused on alot of training and making the employee aware of safety.

ConsThere aren't too many growth opportunities to the true workers for the company. That is unfortunate. Most of the workers are rated in reviews and those reviews may not tell the true story of an employees efforts. We are very top heavy when it comes to the types of jobs.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at the peple who are working day in and out for upward management growth. Promotion opportunities need to be made to the mid line workers.

Opened up a lot of doors

    Corporate Communications Intern (Former Employee)
    Columbia, MD

ProsQuiet, reasonable workload that is easy to manage. Great pay.

ConsThough employees/ peers seem friendly to your face a lot of office politics and backstabbing happens. It's a corporate environment, which means everything has to get approved which can put a hold on a lot of projects

Advice to Senior ManagementExpand the communications department. WR Grace doesn't exactly have the best reputation, so having a strong PR/Communications department is critical

    Leaning experience is self motivation.

    Engineer (Current Employee)
    Philadelphia, PA

ProsGood place to work. Need more degreed employees. High level of self initiative. One must constanly be in the learning mode.

ConsNone at this point so far. Educational support can be improved upon. No limit on amount of time for completion.

Advice to Senior ManagementSalary. Grace needs to identify true market values for all positions. Should be linked to region and not specific location. Manufacturing can be located in an isolated community. This should not lower the wage for the job. Incentive programs should be based on infdividual performance. Specific goals should be attainable. Payout in a timely fashion. Quatery reviews recommended for all employees.

Ok - some pro's and cons'

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Cambridge, MA

ProsPeople are great. People make work bearable and I've worked with some wonderful individuals

Very diversified company below executive / senior manager level

ConsOld school thinking on HR side particularly with regard to flexibility and comp and bens. Too much power in too few individuals

Advice to Senior ManagementDiversify at the top - new blood, different industries/background.
Review Comp & Bens. Treat people as you would like to be treated yourself. Respect.
