Focus on your current employees first

    Structural Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsGood paid time off policy and some flexibility to the schedule. Fellow co-workers are friendly, hard working and will take the time to make sure the clients are happy. Solid amount of work and repeat clients.

ConsThere is little to no room to be promoted within. The company is more focused on buying other companies than trying to grow through new contracts and services. There is a focus on obtaining new employees to fill in gaps vs. promoting within. Each office is run differently. The pay is below market value, even though they stress that they want to be an "employer of choice". Year end bonuses are given to upper management while the people doing the day to day work get nothing.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on your current employees first. If you want to be an "employer of choice" then actually take action vs. just saying that. Cutting costs just to help the bottom line doesn't make you a better employer and doesn't help your employees. Grow the company with your current employees in mind

    Sweatshop and very poor management,

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Melbourne (Australia)

ProsMelbourne office in city. The place I worked and think it was the only good thing about this sweatshop. There are nice people working there but very few!

ConsOffice manager (Melbourne office) is very opinionated, self-centered and with bossy attitude. Salaries are butt low and still they expect every one to do 2 or 3 hours free overtime every day. Workload is too much and there are some office principals who think that bullying subordinates is a way to go!

Advice to Senior ManagementI don't think my advice is gonna work or the management is going to care!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Company to join if you are associate above level

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMost of stuff is very friendly and supportive

    ConsNo training support for graduates.
    Low salaries.
Some time unfair decision from director level with no clear reason.
They make people redundant same time they give promotion, pay rise and external training to some staff in the same department,
United by difference is the tag line used by the company earlier this year; which fits perfectly fine for profit sharing and playing politics..
Management take care of senior staff and shareholder more than new and recent graduate.
Join if you want to distroy your career.

Advice to Senior ManagementLeadership of WSP is not going to listen so no point in giving advice to them. They still live in 19th centure where they think china and india(along with other commonwealth countries) are poor third world countrie and discrimenate people from these countries. You can't wake up a person who is actually not sleeping. There is a big communication gap between management and employees.
