    Unhappy

Service Manager (Former Employee) Jacksonville, FL

ProsThe best reason to work at Wachovia was our customers and my team members.

ConsComplete lack of affective and effective management. Complete lack of truthful communication. In some cases extremely poor management skills.

Great opportunity for young male sales people.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Tampa, FL

    ProsGreat benefits. Salary is competitive.

ConsManagement focuses on sales results only. Little training is provided to employees that are competent and responsible to improve their sales abilities. These employees are threatened and quickly managed out.

Advice to Senior ManagementManage your resources by identifying employee talents and provide opportunities for employees to get better at their jobs. Many good employees have left based on narrow minded leadership.

Personal Banker (Current Employee) Sarasota, FL

Prosmicro managed, 3 months black out for pto, time off if approved not timely

Consno real chance of making goals or making commisions- set the bar so high- hours of calling customers by phone

Advice to Senior ManagementIts human nature to not give when you force employees to work 6 days a week floating holidays are joke

    "The Puppet Makers"

    (Current Employee) Fort Lauderdale, FL

ProsPaid time off and benefits, with the exception of the company stopping pensions since Wellsfargo takeover. Better than unemployment.

ConsNo communication between manegment and subordinates, low pay for expectations, poor incentive program, unqualified management, promotions based on who you know as opposed to qualifications for the job..You must be a Wachovia/Wellsfargo cheerleader with no opinion of your own to get ahead.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at your employees as assets instead of liabilities, stop thinking only of your own pockets Try improving your own management skills before you try to micro manage your employees. Lose the attitude " your lucky you have a job". Stop managing by fear.

    Don't work Here

    Teller (Former Employee) Orlando, FL

ProsThe benefit package was great for health care. However they charge you before and after tax if you have family members on your benefits. They charge you extra for taxes and then reduce at the end of year to save themselves money.

ConsManagement has no clue what they are doing. I worked in a branch that everyone had to ask twice on how to do there own job.

    See for Yourself

Commercial and ATM Teller (Former Employee) Jacksonville, FL

ProsPay and benefits are great you also get paid time off which is also great and it is a secure job.

ConsYou take on more responsibilities that what you are paid for, they even deny requests for emergency dental surgery. most branches are short staffed so you work overtime a lot.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork a week in the modern teller's shoes and see what it's like with all the work you put on them when you have to do all that you ask of them.

I was very disapointed after almost 6 months of employment.

PT Teller (Current Employee) Fort Myers, FL

ProsStore manager was very nice as well as most of the office staff.

ConsSenior management is horrible. Their expectations of their employess are unreasonable. I only took a teller position to get into a company that I thought would be worth the effort put in to advance. After seeing how upper level management treats their employees, I was horrified. My store manager, as well as the personal bankers, have been brought to tears on more than one occasion due to unrealistic goals, stress, being overworked and it just seems that management is NEVER satisfied, even when goals are met. If the bankers miss their goals, they are punished by being forced to come in on their Saturdays off for these "Call Labs" , or they must stay late every day!! I have never worked for such terrible people.

I think all upper level management should be required to take Saturday classes, on their days off, on basic humanity!! What ever happened to treat people how you expect to be treated. Anyway, I gave my notice and got another job!

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees with more kindness. There are many talented people who work for you, and people are more than just numbers.

Did the right thing during a tough time for the company.

Vice President (Current Employee) Miami, FL

ProsGood benefits, consistent communication from senior management on the status of the company.

ConsNo apparent career opportunities. Everything is on hold pending the Wells Fargo merger.

The company has a very short term focus. It's only about making the numbers this quarter. Never about making a business plan and staying with it long term. Never about building for the future and developing people for the future.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue employees at least as much as you value shareholders. When employees are treated as though they are expendable, they will have no commitment to their work.
