Good learning experience that explained how much stress I was capable of handling at once.

    Bank Teller (Current Employee)
    Greenacres, FL

ProsThe paid-time-off, friendly coworkers, and great managers.

ConsThe policies, inflexible hours, sales-pushiness, stress for lack of staffing, and no proper on-site training development for beginners.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand how the level of staffing can affect customer service and smooth operations. Don't expect to have low investing in training, low staffing, high sales goals expectation, 100% customer service, and a fast experience. Do not throw your new tellers in a drive-thru with four lanes by themselves until they are prepared.

Not a good place to move up at all

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsBankers hours, being able to build relationships with customers, a small setting which allows for a feeling of family if working with the right people, paid holidays. With the right management and no micromanaging, it had the potential of being a great job.

ConsIf you were really good at your job, then promotions were not offered because you were filling a need in your current position. There are many years with no raises and its blamed on mergers. It is my personal opinion that yearly reviews are done in a matter that justifies no annual raise. You cannot rely on mngmt's promise of advancement. It is placed before you like a dangling carrot so that you will go above and beyond but when the time comes, it does not come through. There was a lot of animosity between management and other workers.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease encourage workers with possibilities of advancement not morning meetings where you are told you will lose your job if you don't open accounts.

No one knows what they are doing

    Personal Banker I (Current Employee)
    Tamarac, FL

ProsBenefits package is nice. PTO and prescription drug. Pay is ok

ConsIt is a sales position. Customers do not matter, hit your goal at all costs!! Every hour your manager asks how many accounts you have. Managers do not help with customer issues, they pass the issues on to the bankers and are not very well trained. Most managers do not have recent experience as bankers or tellers. They do not know company policy and state it is their job to "help get the numbers" not to help with customer issues. Constant misinformation---policies are changing daily. Commission is more or less unobtainable.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain your staff and care about the customer. They are why we have jobs. Take responsibility.

I wish Wachovia was not a Wells Fargo Company...

    Teller (Current Employee)
    Gainesville, FL

Pros-Opportunity to grow if you are sales oriented and make a good impression to upper management.
-Decent salary (negociate if you have experience)

Cons-The company culture is too sales oriented. Upper management and even branch management does not care if its a slow day or if you don't work much.. they expect core sales goals ot "solutions" to be met daily.
-We did not receive a pay raise the past year
-Wells Fargo's benefits package is horrible
-Bonuses seem non-existent, they dont compare to previous Wachovia structure.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employee's, no one is happy. Have a training program in place to help with sales. You can't expect people to sale without training.

    Account, lending and investment sales

    Financial Specialist (Former Employee)
    The Villages, FL

Prosgood commisson income for working hard. Bankers hours are great! Good teamwork generally within your location. When you make commission others can benefit from the sales.

ConsNot enough gender diversity. Odd this is not seen. Mostly women which isnt so bad unless your the only 1 of 2 men working in the entire area of 50 people.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not allow management to manage the same area for too long. To much special outside relationship effects everyone.... and not in a good way. Hire some men!! Ratio of women to men are 25 to 1

I left Wachovia in 2004, I was very unimpressed with the local management and the way the branches were managed.

    Financial Specialist (Former Employee)
    Fort Lauderdale, FL

    ProsThe pay check never bounced.

ConsRequired overtime, however due to laws, they do not pay for the overtime hours.

Advice to Senior Managementneed better leadership in Broward cty.

    Loan Service (Current Employee)
    Jacksonville, FL

ProsGood benifits 4 weeks of paid time off. Possible to move up. Good incentive program. Teach you what you need to know to move up.

ConsMicro-managed. On the phones for way to long. Work holidays and sat. Mangement needs to get on the same page.

Advice to Senior ManagementManangement need to get on the same page. Make work more interactive. Less micro managment and more macro managment. Clear about what needs to be accomplished to move up in company

    Financial Center Manager (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

    ProsFortune 500 company and benefits

Consnever get time off bc everyone is seniority above you or there is a mtg. and your managers dont do crap they just push all pressure on you. every branch is different but generally working there sucks. many dont leave/quit because the pay is decent in this economy.

Advice to Senior Managementget a degree and learn to respect ee's they are you best assets
