I certainly wish circumstances were different and my career still with this company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Wachovia full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThey support further advancement and while not everyone received respectible compensation I know that I did. The benefits package was outstanding and many selections that I certainly took advantage of while there.

ConsToo many disconnected upper managment staff. They really have and had no understanding of what was happening in the lower ranks. Therefore had no idea how to motivate and keep them engaged. The culture was very much an us versus them mentality because while upper management thought they were doing a great job in reality they did nothing but alienate the people the worked for them.

Advice to Senior ManagementToo late now the company was bought out by Wells Fargo so I can only hope that the new management is better positioned to cure the ills of this company.

Great Company that Valued Human Capital

Senior Administrative Assistant (Former Employee)
Charlotte, NC

I worked at Wachovia full-time for more than 5 years

ProsWachovia really valued its employees. Appreciated the 360 review process. Would go back to work for the bank in a heartbeat. Compensated employees well. Even as an Admin i was encouraged to take ownership of my job and learn as much about the business my group did.

ConsSome of the Wachovia culture has been lost with the change to Wells Fargo but from what I know Wells is still a great company to work for.

3.5yrs as FCM

FCM (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at Wachovia full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat internal and external culture of service.

ConsPoor senior leadership. Pure greed by senior executives led to bad decisions and ultimately the collapse of the organization. Wells Fargo culture is about money, not service.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the culture of product pushing and overly aggressive (no excuses) pursuit of achieving ridiculously high goals.
