I worked at Waffle House full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, Juke box to be played, Free food

    Cons

The hours can be long, work ALL Holidays, you have to cover if the 3rd shift cook calls in sick. Once you get off work at around 4 you must go back to the store for drawer change EVERY SINGLE Friday, Saturday, and the day before you get off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with all the drawer changes

I have been working at Waffle House full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Acts like family, supportive, honest, and reliable. Solves any problem professionally.

    Cons

Open 365 no matter what. Flood, blizzard, hurricane, Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, and anything else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You guys are awesome as a corporation. The only problems I have experienced with upper management in my store would be with the District managers. The ones that I have worked with have good days and bad days, but seem to be more focused on their phones, and what's going on at their other stores, than on the store they're at.

Loved the customers and most staff; upper management played favoritism.

I worked at Waffle House full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Cheap health and life insurance.
Guaranteed raises (seemed random and it could be as low as <5¢ an hour).

    Cons

If you have a good management team, they're aren't any cons, really.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rockwall, Mesquite, and Terrell, TX Management: fix your stores, listen to your employees' problems and fix it if it's in your power to do so (most of the time we're asking for things that will help us be more efficient.

    Pros

You get to meet all types of people; You get to work with all kinds of people the potential of having fun while working is non-stop. We have great bosses. Our regulars become part of our family and it's always nice to seem them with a smile.

    Cons

I do not make enough money at the Waffle House.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I feel like you should promote within more, and not just family members and family members, I also feel that if you paid minimum wage AND let the servers keep their tips you may find that the employee turn over is not as high and that they would like to stay and keep their jobs.
