    Pros

Management did not hover over me too much which was nice. there was always nice music playing throughout the store.

    Cons

Too many to list. Management were not in sync with each other; they constantly gave contradicting orders. They tracked exactly how long it took you to do everything. Management was at often times very rude and condescending.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

    Pros

The atmosphere can be great a lot of the time. Working with the customers gives you great satisfaction when your customers leave happy. Partial fellow co-workers are friendly and assist in your time of need. This job demands patience and kindness to your customers, therefore you will learn to have those two qualities if not already have them.

    Cons

Many times employees will be ignored when trying to get assistance from managers. Even customers would get ignored when trying to address a problem to a manager or even if they need help finding a product. Managers and other employees will not make the customer feel as though they are important. Customer service is very poor by most who work there.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be more structured. They need to come to the realization that they need their employees and customers therefore show more appreciation for for them. A customers happiness should be their number one priority not ignoring them.

    Pros

Wal-Mart is the global leader in continuous development of supply chain management, just-in-time replenishment, marketing, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SAP's) to maximize efficiencies at all levels.

    Cons

With all the cutting edge SAP's that Wal-Mart has put in place, at the retail level policies and procedures are poorly executed by management teams that are not in concert, inadequately trained, and harshly criticized by the store manager for not meeting goals and objectives beyond their control.

    Advice to Management

I admire creativity, innovation, and ambition. However when short-term goals are prioritized above its long-term ill effects, it fosters a culture of unmotivated and irresponsible associates.

    Pros

Implementing the small format stores was a good idea since Walmart is the single largest retailer join the world.

    Cons

They do not compensate and share the companies good fortunes with there employees. I find the turnover is a lot larger than most other companies by a long distance. Bottom line take care of your people!

    Advice to Management

Do not play favorites and give everyone who is entitled to a chance to get that, a chance at advancing and making Walmart a much better place. Too many times management lets personal emotions get inn the way of making a sound business decision. Make your workplace the very best it can be!

    Pros

10% discount, coworkers, associate camaraderie, modular resets

    Cons

    Benefits, Pay, management, overworked, unappreciated

    Advice to Management

Respect and dignity is crucial. Provide your associates with that and an honest wage and the company would be so much better. When you take a full time employee and give them 8 hours a week, it's a blow to their livelihood.

    Pros

do what you are told and you will be mainly ignored, which is good in its own way. its a job but not much more

    Cons

you arent a person, you are a robot which needs to do their job. if any manager ends up paying you too much attention they get rid of you. totally expendable.

    Advice to Management

people are people. just because we arent paid much doesnt give you the right to treat up like slaves. that said, keep paying me and ill be there every morning

    Pros

The experience is unparalled. You're given a VAST amount of responsibility even as a low-level supervisor that place you toe-to-toe with a store manager of another company. The relationships with coworkers is closer to being in a family than having a job.

    Cons

The payscale is laughable at best. The politics between management is reminiscent of high school and is incredibly unprofessional. There is favoritism. The stores are understaffed and you will always be short-handed. Management doesn't care if you are short-staffed. The general leadership tactic they practice and openly TEACH new management and supervisors is fear based. "Do this or else". I love the company, I love my job, I even like a few of my superiors, but none of that changes the fact that this is the worst job I have ever had.

    Advice to Management

Give opportunity to someone other than your friends.
