    Not to bad, Great experience

Electronic Sales Associate (Former Employee) Lancaster, CA

ProsThe job was very flexible, you learn alot of new things and how the retail world works. I wouldnt say its a career opportunity there but its definitely great experience to put down on the resume.

ConsCustomers were sometimes rude....but then again alot of employees were negative about the job so you just really have to stay positive yourself so that negative aura doesnt affect you.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere were some great ones but for the not so great ones...be more sociable with your employees and have some respect and they will treat you well.

    Cashier (Current Employee) Anaheim, CA

ProsI got an interview in 2-3 days of applying. I only had one interview and got hired on the spot.

ConsBeing a cashier can be challenging when the store gets busy. You're also expected to maintain a friendly demeanor.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't put the starting of the next shift of an employee within 12 hours of their previous one.

Good entry-level job that teaches fundamental skills

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Valencia, CA

ProsThe best aspect of working for Walmart is definitely the people you get to work with. Most of the employees share a positive vibe and view the whole job with a sense of humor.

ConsLow salary is the most negative aspect of employment with Walmart. I was not able to support myself with near full time hours at the base pay. The pay may be alright for a young adult going through school and still living with parents or maybe even living with several roommates, but definitely unable to go solo.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave faith in your employees, learn and respect their individuality

ConsToo large of a company, losing some of the basic beliefs of Sam Walton

Very good but a lot of work! (Cashier)

Cashier (Former Employee) Bell Gardens, CA

ProsManagement here was very laid back from what I saw. As a cashier I was started off at $8.40 an hour here in California and got more or less a $400 paycheck twice a month. Be prepared to be flexible what you work as because you will be running around the whole store doing anything you're told! Very kool atmosphere that's non-hostile! Just a pain because you will work a lot for that $8.40!

ConsWe wouldn't get enough customers and therefore didn't have enough money for man power to run the store up to its full potential. Sometimes we would get slammed with customers at a time and only have one person at a register and another at customer service! Also, since it was very lonely most of the time you'd get bored quickly. Not the ideal place to get a promotion. Also like any work place favortism lived there!

Advice to Senior ManagementChange prices to lower competitive prices! Why spend 30 cents for a cucumber when i can get 10 for $1 across the street!

Good place for a first job

Electronic Sales Associate (Current Employee) Long Beach, CA

ProsGood place to get a job easy to get hired. Part time gets benefits after 1 year witch is good. Plenty of ways to move up in company.

ConsVery hard work for little pay, managment really can get annoying, management sometimes treats associates like they are worthless

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to go in the departments and listen to associate input we are a team remember A TEAM alot of managers forget that

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
