    Pros

Flexible schedule. Laid back atmosphere on 3rd shift. Safety incentives.

    Cons

Managers tend to "target" individuals for disciplinary action. Severe cut in hours during January and February. Training tends to take a back seat to daily duties. Nothing WalMart related can be done off the clock (including applying for other WalMart positions and requesting time off).

    Advice to Management

Endeavor to treat people equally rather than play favorites. Follow-through after meetings with Associates. Set time aside for training so it doesn't pile up.

    Pros

Walmart is Walmart. In my opinion, the thing that matters most about whether you like your job or not, is the people that you work with directly. One hour lunch is nice. I don't take part in the insurance and other benefits so I can not comment on that stuff. Overall, it's a good job.

    Cons

It's hot inside the store all year round.

    Advice to Management

Get better coffee for the break room.

    Pros

Fast paced work. Semi-flexible scheduling. Occasional quarterly bonuses(if we qualify) rewarding customer service experiences

    Cons

Surrounded by people who are only there to draw a paycheck. Demanding customer service experiences

    Advice to Management

Throw out this theory that paying more money to the wrong people gets you anywhere. You have to hire the right people. Not just get bodies in place. When you do get the right people. Invest in them. Otherwise you're just training them to work somewhere else.

    Pros

401k, Benefits for part time/full, Bonus every 3 months based on how the store did. 9$ starting out for everyone. 32 hours a week for part time.

    Cons

Rude management, high expectations, have to work 6 months to get first bonus, one year before you get a raise

    Pros

Walmart is now, after the minimum pay raise, a decent place to work. It is a good place for people to start out and get some experience. I would not however, recommend this job for a long term career. The people you work with are normally very friendly, and problems don't tent to occur often.

    Cons

Understaffed locations. Be aware of this, make sure you ask about how well the store your applying for is staffed,

    Advice to Management

Pay heed to your employees needs and concerns, and hire people as people leave.

    Pros

Easy job once you understand what you are doing. Excellent for work/school/life balance.

    Cons

Low minimum wages, Some managers are better than others at dealing with customer relations and associate relations.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your workers, they will give you the most insight into the minds of customers, as we shop there too. Also, make sure everyone is told about changes to policies when the changes come into effect, rather than later.

    Pros

Walmart is a fun and great environment to work in you may not know a lot of people when you first start but after a couple of weeks you will soon know almost everyone's names and also who your regular customers are.

    Cons

It gets really hot in front of the store and the computers produce a lot of heat. You are not allowed to leave the cash register but if you have a locked product like a tv with spider wire around it you have to take the item to a different register and if you have already started the transaction you can't just logout for a minute so no one touches it. Especially on the GM side of the store this is a problem there is one magnet for 7 registers that unlocks these items.

    Advice to Management

If people complain about how hot it is in the store do something because that means it's hot to us as well. Make sure we have what we need to do our job.

I love my job and I know what I do makes a difference in our community! Nothing means more to me than when I see a customer happy to see me and tells me that I'm the reason they come back!

    Pros

Great computer system, good company support, nice co-workers. And this has to be at least 20 words...

    Cons

Pay!! The pay is laughable compared to what I have made at other jobs. I left a miserable job making $22.50/hr bc I couldn't take the BS anymore, and now I'm happier concerning the job itself, but miserable bc the PAY STINKS!!

    Advice to Management

    Increase compensation for experienced employees.
