I have been working at Walmart part-time for less than a year

    Pros

They teach you about achieving goals as a team.

    Cons

Salary should be better based on how much the company makes a year, promotions were only based on favorites, and bad leadership ethics from the front end managers as well as them being lazy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually look into the people you are hiring. Tell the front end managers that they should not be just talking, but doing the job they got hired to do.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is their stock options. That's about it.

    Cons

The pay is horrible compared to the workload hourly management is given. The management treats their employees horribly. Walmart's philosophy is " Respect for the Individual" but it is nonexistent. It does not happen. A lot of favoritism, hostile work environment, & discrimination is rampant in every store I have been in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thet need to remember what it was like when they were regular associates. They need to be held accountable for disrespecting others, allowing unethical behavior to continue, and they need to learn to build people up not breaking people down.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most positions offer a good degree of flexibility in terms of hours, and since Walmart has a policy to promote from within first, there are many opportunities for advancement for those that perform. There is a lot of opportunity if you look beyond your job description.

    Cons

Pay is based on experience and education, and is very quantified when calculated. It is also comparable to other retailers. Benefits do seem to favor salaried management... this could be a motivating factor for those looking to move ahead.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
