Prosyou get enough leeway to run the business your way, as long as you have integrity and do a good job there is minimal interference from corporate.

Conssome of their latest policies and initiatives to capture new business and retain current customers leave a lot to be desired.

Advice to Senior Managementallow us to give gift cards for transferred or new prescriptions.
cut down on the amount of paperwork given to patients with prescriptions. by my calculations, at the most conservative estimate if they would condense the patient handouts to 1 or 2 pages the company would save 30 million dollars, but this figure is probably 5 or 6 times that.

Bentonville, AR

Former Employee – worked at Walmart Stores full-time for more than 10 years

ProsOpportunity to get involved and contribute to improve processes.

ConsSenior management sticks together even when a weak link is present. One of their own. Personnel says they are there to stand by you but this was not my experience. They went along to get along to my demise.

Advice to Senior ManagementActually take employee surveys seriously. How about an exit interview?

Sierra Vista, AZ

Current Employee – been working at Walmart Stores full-time for more than 7 years

ProsWal-mart has so many career choices within the company all you need to do is take advantage of these oppurtunites

ConsOnly closed on Christmas Day!

Advice to Senior ManagementI hear alot of complaints from associates and DM about being held accountable for notes not being done, to many outs in their areas, freight not binned, just everyday routines, but if they deligate these tasks and they follow up and they are still not getting done then that person should be held accountable not the person that deligated it. They also complain about having to help in other areas then still have to make sure that their areas are complete and now have to do their daily tasks in less time and if not then they are held accountable. They want to be able to come to work make sure that their areas are up to standards then they have no problem going to help out in other areas. They also feel that alot of associates are in the wrong area, or they don't like that area. we need to put associates in areas where they can excell not fail. Every associate has their own strenghts we just need to find what it is.And yes everybody needs to work toghether. Team Work!!! FIRED UP!!!!!!

Sallisaw, OK

Current Employee – been working at Walmart Stores full-time for more than 3 years

ProsI have been able to promote very quickly from an hourly associate to a salaried position with no collage experiance and very little work history. WalMart greatly supports developing their associatess into leaders and preferes promoting within the company over hiring externally.

ConsSome bad managment at times but, I have always been able to talk to a higher level about my concerns and they did their best to help me!

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your associates how you would like to be treated! Follow the company advicce! WalMart is very PRO-ASSOCIATE in how they teach managment to deal with hourly associates. If all managment followed the company direction on treating associates, people would fight over jobs at walmart!
