I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Theme park tickets. Seriously, get your experience and then run for the door.

    Cons

Non-existent work-life balance. Incompetent lower level executives are championed and retained. HR thinks staff turnover is healthy. A unique company history is not enough to make the top 25 list for culture.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

No pros I can think of.

    Cons

Worst company you could ever imagine working for. I worked in a professional field and from day one was not provided mentoring or guidance one would expect from a company as big as Disney.

I have worked for another Fortune 250 company prior to Disney and it was far superior. One major con is the fact the leaders criticize yet don't help you improve. The term "feedback is a gift" is regularly thrown around to sugar coat the constant berating by colleagues and leaders. If you are offered a job here, think long and hard before accepting. I can honestly say it was the worst professional experience of my life.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is a well recognized brand. Free passes to the park for you and your family.

    Cons

Low pay, long hours and obsolete technology means you will be very frustrated. The company embodies "group think" and so great ideas are squashed if a committee doesn't agree. Expect to be micromanaged as even Vice Presidents are involved in daily bug triage meetings. Very reactionary leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan ahead instead of reacting after the fact.
Trust your team and delegate authority.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very innovative, creative and extremely client focused

    Cons

Very uncomfortable with the "culture", not for everyone. If you do not adapt completely it can be a difficult place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In a large organizations one size does not fit all. Care should be taken when evaluating people, skills and contributions. Audits and reviews are snapshots in time and not a true assessment of value to the company. Every circumstance is different.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time

    Pros

Good pay, great benefits and perks (free theme parks access, backstage tours, etc.), talented employees

    Cons

The leadership at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Online (WDPRO) is the worst I've ever experienced. They are unorganized, egotistical, hypocritical, and out of touch. They've created a a toxic environment where everything is urgent and critical and subject to change at their whim. They have no concept of work-life balance. They firmly believe that everything will work out if they can just whip all of us moronic employees into delivering their grand visions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit. You are running this organization into the ground and you are not qualified for your positions.
