I have been working at Warner Bros. full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

great family unit. Everyone that actually does the work (anyone below a VP title) are worth working with. Feels like a college campus.

    Cons

The office Politics ruin the whole environment of working here.

I worked at Warner Bros. (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved the people I worked with. We were family and I love that.

    Cons

Room to grow. The way WB is growing, my hope is that they keep to the values they were built on. Cheaper , faster, better is not always the case.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some mentoring would be a great value to everyone.

I have been working at Warner Bros. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good HR benefits - You get a good number of observed holidays, studio has consistently in the last few years given you paid time off from Christmas to the first day after New Years Day. Sometimes you get a couple extra days if New Year's falls on a Friday. 401K matching is pretty good here. They also have a nice day-care facility that's certified through Bright Horizons. They take infants at a few months all the way up to Pre-K. It's pretty expensive though and there's waiting list.
Good overall benefits - Movie screenings, company softball team

    Cons

Takes a long time to get promoted, but it probably depends on how quickly your division is expanding. WB IT was outsourced to a 3rd party IT Consulting company and internal WB teams are very small (1-to-1 for Manager and Functional BA) compared to how many offshore technical resources are supporting the team depending on how business critical the application is that you're supporting for the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

VP should be more active in providing direct mentoring for their direct reports and providing more opportunity to get promoted within their team so employees don't feel like they're stuck in the same position.

I worked at Warner Bros. as a contractor

    Pros

Great place to work. Good environment, with lots of perks built in to the workplace. Staff are very smart, highly skilled and professional. Casual workplace focused on results where employees are respected. Union CBA guarantees fair treatment & pay.

    Cons

Because it's essentially a TV studio, jobs last only as long as the shows run. Since shows are produced overseas, the studio is small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to understand your audiences, and have faith in the shows you produce.

I worked at Warner Bros. full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Diverse group of talented people committed to success. Cross functional collaboration regularly.

    Cons

Every year there are labor cutbacks and outsourcing of job functions despite generally achieving record corporate profits.. It creates a climate of fear and frustration on the part of the "workers.". Efforts are not rewarded and peoples commitment to success is not recognized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You cannot continually cut the labor force and expect record results every year.
