I worked at Warner Music full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I was in the Rhino Records division. It was casual, and the employees, owners, and managers had a mutual respect that was refreshing.

    Cons

Maybe a little difficult to move up.

I have been working at Warner Music full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The leadership is really much more concerned about improving the company and creating something that is better than you found it. Something you can be proud of.

    Cons

There is a lot of history, baggage, and bad habits that have to get cleaned up. And there is a lot of uncertainty in what will come about from all these changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on keeping on. And continue to work toward one unified strategic direction.

    Decent internship

I worked at Warner Music as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Young, fun vibe even though it is a mature company. Most people very into music and opportunity to get lots of CDs/digital tracks for free or cheap.

    Cons

Earnings were pressured in the industry, and it felt like they were constantly trying to cut costs everywhere (and probably were).

I worked at Warner Music as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Got to review 50 years worth of WMG artist contracts, amazing stories! Contracts from the 50s were 1-2 pages on tissue paper. Today's are 300+ pages and focus on merchandising rights. Found out who some of the real jerks in the music industry are.

    Cons

Not enough budget to keep me going there. I was cut off when I was 90% done with my project.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
