Excellent company. They take care of their employees.

    Legal (Former Employee)

ProsI was in the Rhino Records division. It was casual, and the employees, owners, and managers had a mutual respect that was refreshing.

ConsMaybe a little difficult to move up.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive more incentives for promotions.

ConsWas not given a job post grad, some events were during school time. Not as much time to actually completed some of the idead I had.

    Changing for the better

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsThe leadership is really much more concerned about improving the company and creating something that is better than you found it. Something you can be proud of.

ConsThere is a lot of history, baggage, and bad habits that have to get cleaned up. And there is a lot of uncertainty in what will come about from all these changes.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep on keeping on. And continue to work toward one unified strategic direction.

    Decent internship

    Intern (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsYoung, fun vibe even though it is a mature company. Most people very into music and opportunity to get lots of CDs/digital tracks for free or cheap.

ConsEarnings were pressured in the industry, and it felt like they were constantly trying to cut costs everywhere (and probably were).

Royalty historian moves company records from PAPER TO DIGITAL

    Paralegal (Former Employee)
    Burbank, CA

ProsGot to review 50 years worth of WMG artist contracts, amazing stories! Contracts from the 50s were 1-2 pages on tissue paper. Today's are 300+ pages and focus on merchandising rights. Found out who some of the real jerks in the music industry are.

ConsNot enough budget to keep me going there. I was cut off when I was 90% done with my project.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't let good people go!

In general a wonderful place to work with enormous opportunities if you are a self starter

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsIf you love Music and want to be around creative people who have passion every day for what they do, this is the place to be.

ConsObviously the business model for music has been almost like quicksand and it is incredibly difficult in a huge company to move quickly especially with ownership changing.

Advice to Senior ManagementReduce overhead, simplify processes, create incubator like groups that can move quickly on great ideas.

ProsThe schedule is flexible. Really good for people who look for work and life balance position. I enjoyed the entire internship.
The internship program was great, received emails to participate in special events.

ConsAs of intern, you won't have much chance to work with other people.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore opportunities for interns to get a full-time position.
