    Pros

Fun culture. Growth culture. Supportive executive management in the Mortgage Division.

    Cons

Many mergers and reorganizations made it challenging to motivate people and keep everyone going all of the time.

    Pros

The company was fair. It had great benefits and recognition program that made the employees feel valued.

    Cons

The management could have been a little clear on the direction of the company.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your employees stay well informed in your direction

  5. Was great while it lasted

    I worked at Washington Mutual

    Pros

Decent pay for a high school student; very social; opportunity to take initiative and advance

    Cons

Always pushing the up-sell. And up-selling subprime loans lead to terrible consequences in the end.

    Advice to Management

Well, you don't really exist anymore. So next time when you have a business that survived the great depression, try to put people first (not profits) and survive the great resession.

    Pros

The people were great. The division was small so everyone had to wear many hats. Our division was acquired by a much larger finance group and our people were so much more efficient.

    Cons

There existed some good ole boy network mentality. The old guard did not respect the abilities of the new people.

    Advice to Management

    Consider not selling out.

    Pros

Team was great; still maintaining meaningful relationships years after the Chase takeover. Bonds were made during many long hours of shared project work. Compensation was good.

    Cons

Very demanding schedule. Felt like much of the time we were racing against time. Thought we had made it through when things got pulled out from underneath us.

    Advice to Management

Don't grow too fast and compromise values that made you beloved by your customers. Thanks for pushing me, though, to realize what I could do.

Quotas that have to be met or negative performance reviews happen
Low starting salary as a teller
