Good experience dealing with a variety of dynamic issues

    Engineer (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsHard working co-workers that care about their work and environment. Decent benefits for workers & families. Alot of personal freedom to get work completed.

ConsPoor equipment & site maintenance causing more interruptions. Constantly trying to "save" money by not performing work. General attitude from front line emplyees is not positive due to continuosly being asked to do more with less. Very compartmentalized institution & goals are not aligned with the success of the customers.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop pressuring the front lines constantly. You have honest, hard working individuals that have not been rewarded for thier commitments for many years now.

    " Smoke and Mirrors"

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe majority of the co-workers were fun to work with but they are very pricey for the service they provide. They did upgrade to Sales force but they were still using obsolete system that sometime working with the new technology made things complex. The majority of the customers were wonderful to work with but they sometimes received the short end of the stick.

ConsWM do not treat the worker well. Management works the employees to death and continually decrease compensation but set the bar, so high it was in some cases unobtainable. Management was compensated for work the employee accomplished, but the employees were not given the compensation they deserved for working to keeping WM in business. If you are a supervisor or above you made money but did not always make themselves available to customers that wanted to speak with a manager. The time card system was down more than it worked.Basically if you work there do what you have to do keep you heard down and your mouth closed otherwise by become a moving target.

Advice to Senior ManagementCorporate need to listen to their employees on the ground and stop making decision from the top down. The corporate management is not working with the day to day customer base and even when they did come to the office to talk to the people on the ground. The employees were so fearful of being fired, people kept their mouth closed as they had seen employees that express themselves fired in the pass.

    Dirty, Unfair, Hateful, Stressful

Residential Driver (Former Employee) Reno, NV

    ProsLocally pay and some employees

ConsVery stressful totalitarian envronment. You are pushed to do more and more in less and less time. No restroom breaks.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within so supervisors know what job really is. Support emplyees and listen, don't just fire people.

    Nasty sweatshop environment

Inside Commercial Representative (Former Employee) Phoenix, AZ

ProsGood place for unskilled individuals to make decent money compared to other call centers.
Sounds good at first - co-workers really talked up the manager, sounded all positive.
Some mid-level management looked like they knew what they were doing.

ConsListening to complaints all day long from customers very mind deadening.
Training wasn't much value when placed in the role after 3 weeks. Sink or swim factor at play, no time to request help and nobody available to provide assistance.
Cliques among co-workers ( longer term employees very unfriendly and stand-offish, all about the potlucks and such all day long)

Advice to Senior ManagementIf I thought they were listening, I might still be working there, so no advice to senior management.

    Not worth the pay

Route Manager (Former Employee) Charlotte, NC

ProsThe pay was good and the benefits were even better

ConsWay too much stress!!!! Really bad equipment, outdated computer systems, micromanaging upper management

Advice to Senior ManagementLet the Managers manage, and upgrade the equipment. Too many rules and regulations. Pretty soon you won't be able to keep any employees or be able to hire them back!

Work here if you like corporate greed.

Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee) Phoenix, AZ

    ProsGood co-workers. Plenty of parking.

ConsConstant change, high turnover rates, management only cares about the bottom line. Avoid the call center. Office is in the ghetto.

Advice to Senior ManagementRaise pay rates, show integrity.

    Expectations change like the wind

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)

ProsGreat people. Close knit group of people that work hard to succeed. Immediate supervisors work hard to recognize your hard work.

ConsThe majority of incentive driven goals are unrealistic. Spread too thin. Job focus is ever-changing. Redundant task due to computer systems that do not synch. Feel like a small cog in a big machine.

Advice to Senior ManagementWorry less about pushing the stock up a % point and worry more about how you treat your employees and customers and the stock will do just fine.
