One of the best jobs I've ever had

Anonymous (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsVery friendly, smart, dedicated colleagues. No one is looking over my shoulder. Liberal with work from home days. Competitive salary. Very little overtime. Office closes early the day before holidays. Demonstrated value of work-life balance. If you show that you are responsible within the scope of your job, it is recognized and appreciated...I feel like my managers want to make sure I have everything I need. My colleagues were always available to me as a resource when I was learning the ropes. Everyone I've dealt with is eternally polite, courteous, convivial, and friendly.

ConsI have no complaints at this time. Absolutely none.

Advice to Senior ManagementAt least in my department, PLEASE keep doing what you're doing. You make me want to come to work every day and I thank you.

Good Culture / Solid Future Plans

Director of Strategic Accounts (Former Employee)

ProsI thought the culture here was fantastic. There were a ton of A players, who were passionate about the space and the kind of work we were doing.
Very much a place where you are given freedom to make the most of it.

ConsVery entreprenurial, you have to pull from the organization what you want and need. It isn't always offered. ( this can be good or bad ).

Advice to Senior ManagementSince I left, it is very clear that management recognized the challenges ahead and took steps to figure out a path forward for success. Digital is ever evolving. Ensure you have your finger on the pulse of where digital is going in healthcare. I'd love to see real investment in R&D to try new product ideas and services out.

ProsHighly recognizable brand, casual work culture, hard working colleagues, sense of teamwork and purpose, great colleagues; unlimited coffee, tea, bottled water, subway right under building.

ConsI can't think of any downsides at the moment.

    Excellent technology group

Software Developer Intern (Former Employee) Portland, OR

Pros-Brilliant people in tech. The tech group works closely and with rather negligible friction with the business departments. The mentoring I received via code reviews and other experiences, such as participating in conducting user study, etc., shows their commitment towards nurturing every employee.
    -Casual dress code.
    -subsidized vending machines
-Team building at any place of choice
-Showers for those who rode bike to work

ConsI did not find any cons during my short employment.

    Loved it!

    Intern (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsThere are a lot of pros at WebMD. I would say the people, most of all, were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so intelligent, friendly, and willing to help and share information. In addition, I would say they have wonderful company appreciation/holiday events. I liked the work I was able to do, but I think that relied mainly on my boss. She was great and really wanted the internship to be a worthwhile experience. I would say it definitely was and you should apply!

ConsThere was a lot of caution with new ideas. I think they could be more open to new ideas especially when competitors are doing and succeeding with them.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more open to new ideas
