    I worked at Wells Fargo

    Pros

The Vision and Values concept has a great foundation. The concept of truly helping customers' succeed financially is what kept me with WF for so long. They'res also great people within Wells Fargo, hidden but they are there.

    Cons

This is where it gets tricky. Sales is a important balance for any company to remain profitable. We are surrounded by sales in society. WF does give the word "sale" a bad name though. With that being said, WF's District Leaders and Area Presidents are 2-3 years behind the curve in the retail world. They believe that by pressing for numbers to satisfy reports is reflection on team members doing what is right for customers. They are great about talking about the vision and values and using it as a shield when protecting themselves. There are times where a team member is not a right fit, however, WF always has a struggle with retention. If Wells invested in WOWing their team members rather then standing behind the flawed leadership and poorly executed Vision and Values they would have retained me, that stood up for the great tellers, bankers, and service managers. We did not hit our sales goals all the time but with did the best job we could and made a lot of customers happy.

    Pros

Environment is really competitive and asks a lot from you, but if you like that type of place this is a great place to work for. Promotions and raises can happen often and quickly, all you need to do is produce. PERFECT job for a college student in my opinion because the hours are flexible and awesome, the pay is good (especially at an entry level position), Tuition Reimbursement program helps a lot, and it's a great place to make contacts and meet a variety of people. 401k plan is great in that they'll match up to 6%. Employee Stock Purchase Plan isn't well known but is a good way to tuck some money away. Paid Time Off is relatively hassle-free to take.

    Cons

If you end up working under a manager who's "bad" then you'll have a tough job. Promotions are given strictly off performance for the most part, so sometimes the people at the top are unprofessional, poor leaders, uneducated, or some combination of all of that. These managers are the kind that facilitate a lot of the dishonest actions, terrible workplace morale, and poor community perception. These are NOT all manager's though, most have great intentions and are qualified.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider ways to change the perception of the sales goals. The perception of the sales goals is often very negative and makes some employees feel like pushy salesmen. The goals may be unreasonable at times, but the often adjustments help to make them more reasonable. Upper management should focus on all of the positive ideas behind the sales goals and trickle that down. If upper management focuses on quality of sales and how helpful employees should really be, then employees in the branch will focus on positively impacting customers and the community instead of being "pushy salesmen".

I worked at Wells Fargo part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

As an employee of Wells Fargo we were trained very well. Pay was decent for a part time job, and quarterly bonuses were a perk if you met sales goals.

    Cons

Having to work weekends was always a hassle especially on Sundays. Compared to other banking institutions Wells Fargo is very sales oriented and should focus more on meeting customer needs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Personally my manger was great, she always pushed me to exceed in my position. I worked hard and she would push for me to receive raises as frequently as possible. I know some employees from different locations were not so fortunate.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, including paid time off, medical, holiday pay and the people I worked with

    Cons

very sales driven, customers are burned on products. Getting sales is all that matters. A lot shady stuff goes on that I couldn't be a part of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on the customers need instead of selling and up selling products they don't need.

    Pros

You get quarterly bonuses so that makes you work harder. The bonuses is based on how much you sell during that quarter and based on your customer services. Really easy to get promoted

    Cons

Finding customers when your store is slow. Management expects results from you they don't care how you do it, just do it.

    Pros

Awesome CEO, very well managed, great people to work with, good incentive plans, solid training.

    Cons

Get ready for a Corporate environment on steroids, lots of "bs bingo", you're riding on a stagecoach - don't expect swift change, medical and dental benefits are poor, expect a 10-12 hour work day and a mobile phone that does not stop between the hours of 7am and 9pm,.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

One of the best reasons to work at Wells Fargo is for the work experience. You can learn a lot. A lot of what you will learn from trial and error.

    Cons

Some challenges of working at Wells Fargo is that you are not always equipped with the tools necessary to do your job such as initial training in regards to indepth training in your role. Also many times an individual can feel like they do not matter. It's not a company that makes you feel like your individual well being or opinion matters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management I would suggest to be approachable. A manger should always seek to promote growth within the individuals that report to them.

Cultural values and great involvement in the community.

    Cons

Upper management is the worst. And the company really does not care about what's right for the customer.
