Dependant on your location and manager

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat growth opportunity, hire and promote from within.

    ConsAggressive sales environment
    Pressure from management
Self sourcing required in some areas, but not in others.

Advice to Senior ManagementI am fortunate enough to be at a busy store so we can rely on walk-ins and inbound calls to meet our sales goals, but other stores in the district see a fourth of what we do, yet their sales goals are the same. I think that is very unfair and is the cause of such high turnover. Use common sense and adjust the goals to compensate for store traffic.

If you can ignore the politics, it's a good job that has good benefits

Loan Document Specialist III (Current Employee) Concord, CA

ProsSome of the jobs pay well and cost out of pocket for medical is less than most.

ConsPromotions are difficult to obtain. Politics. Someone less qualified may be promoted because of who they know.

Advice to Senior ManagementLess politics & promote according to qualifications not favoritism.

    CSSR (Current Employee) Kannapolis, NC

ProsThe best reasons to work for WF is the schedule.

ConsToo concentrated on sales, not the need of the customer.

Advice to Senior ManagementStand up for your employees. Tell your staff how they perform more often, whether good or bad.

Excellent training, good people, positive work environment.

    Teller (Former Employee) Opelika, AL

ProsLots of growth opportunities with a comprehensive online training library. Benefits for half-time workers.

ConsSales goals are very high. Some of the customer service training seems condescending or non-applicable.

Advice to Senior ManagementRefine customer service training. For new hires, start with the goals proration instead of having it hit them right before bonuses are announced.

Breaching the Silos to provide technical support

    Applications SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Current Employee)

ProsI have a great manager, this is the 2nd great manager I have had at the Bank. Every day is something new, something challenging (on this I depend and Thrive!). I see opportunity all around me. Internal sites show of thousands of other jobs I could apply to If I were interested (I'm not). Salaried employees are treated better.

ConsI have seen other managers (mostly in LOB or SALES) that do micro manage and set unrealistic goals. luckily I don't work for one of them. hourly employees are treated like contractors.

Advice to Senior Management1) End the fact that hourly employees are treated like contractors. 2) end unrealistic sales goals. 3) Keep caring about employees 4) Keep the bonuses in place

    Customer experience vs sales integrity

Online Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsStrong company. Number one bank right now. Stability. Great pay. Even greater bonuses.

ConsAggressive sales culture. Almost predatory. Last time checked I'm a customer service rep not a sales banker

Advice to Senior ManagementLower metrics due to numerous changes with policy and proceedures

    SALES ARE KING

    Lead Teller (Current Employee)

    ProsThe company has AMAZING BENEFITS!!!

ConsYou will do nothing but sell to people all day long. People who work to make their way up the latter rarely do and people who dont deserve it fall up the ladder into positions they are not qualified for.

A company that forces you to define yourself.

    Banker (Former Employee)

ProsGreat experience to get into banking industry. You made it here, you'll make it anywhere

ConsVery tough goals. Requires to think out of the box and act out of comfort zone. Requires beyond hours paid to really enjoy and be successful. Depends on your view, is there the light at the end of your tunnel or not because, the pay does not give incentives to all the above.
