    I worked at Wells Fargo

    Pros

The people are great. It is a very large financial sound company. Relative to other financial services companies, your job is relatively safe. Great training, especially for those in the early stages of their career.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic and must go through many levels before some things are approved. Promotions many times are based on how long you have been there, rather than merit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at some of the younger employees and try to do a better job of holding on to them. It is a different time, and employees are looking for more than just a steady paycheck.

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

The pay is reasonable for the type of work you are doing.
If you stay for a while you get good pay increases.
If you are good at sales and service, they recognize you and make you feel great.

    Cons

If you are making too much money they may look for a reason to fire you.
It takes a long time to get a promotion.
They require you to jump through a lot of hoops to be successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more realistic in what you expect of your bankers on a sales basis. Give more training on how to sell and less on how to profile someone.

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Great compensation, competitive salary, meet a lot of great people

    Cons

Very political, a lot of people get promoted for just having numbers, not necessarily the best fit for the position. Very sales oriented and micro managed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The retail side is a joke, and please don't promote people to management based on favoritism and that they can sell. It does not mean they know how to manage employees well.

    Pros

Wells Fargo has local Private Bankers and are competitive with products.

    Cons

Wells Fargo as a whole do not value their most valubles employees, no knowlegement for good work. Do not care about the employees and only care about solutions sold for the day and not the retention of the clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Large company with excellent benefits, Excellent ongoing training, Can move to other parts of the country and it is common for people to try many different types of jobs.

    Cons

You can get lost in the shuffle, H/R is too strict when it comes to policy - there is no gray area with them, inconsitencies when it comes to policy decisions - the same division can have two different sets of policy for a given issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read the above statement. Senior management should be able to override H/R decisions when it is the right thing to do.
