I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Solid place to begin a career. Learn all you can and then search else where.

    Cons

    Climbing the ladder is slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut down (not cut off) on the middle management bureaucracy that is adding little value.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Diversity of the Company is awesome. Everyone speaks different languages and has interesting characters. Very flexible. Great training program.

    Cons

Sales pressure. The promotion is all about sales; it doesn't matter how hard you work, or how helpful you are. No numbers, no promotion. There are no sick days allowance, only personal time offs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If promotion can also be based on the quality work that the banker puts in, that would be great.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Made to really feel like a member of a team rather an employee. All levels truly care about the team mates and protecting the brand.

    Cons

Working in headquarters position, expect to spend most of the day on conference calls and working with others spread across the US. Can be a challenge if virtual consensus building and decision making are not a strength.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time walking around and just talking with team members, not presenting to them.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

good company, with long term career goals.

    Cons

Immediate managers are not employee focused, they only push us to push our customers to sell and leave a dis taste with customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

bring about policies that are more customer and employee friendly rather than win the race.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, and great compensation for those who reach "gold" level sales quotas. Team camaraderie varies from store to store.

    Cons

Sales pressure, unethical sales practices, and some managers can be extremely demanding and demeaning. Everything management tells us to do is somehow contradicted the next day with a new tactic.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I made lots of great friends here

    Cons

The quality of the hiring has gone way down so we put up with a lot of not-so-bright people sometimes

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Strong efforts to foster teamwork and community service. Fairly generous vacation and telecommuting practices

    Cons

Very slow decision making. Very difficult to stand out and/or expand your workload in order to engage with different parts of the bank or different types of business and technologies. Compensation seems to be below average for the market

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better compensation, better use of company equity to incentivize non-management employees

I worked at Wells Fargo as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

If you like to learn about deployment, this is the place. You will be deploying something to all the environment every single day: 10am, 2pm, 8 pm.

    Cons

You could work as a contractor up to one year only. Afterwards, you either has to quit and come back after several months or accept an offer for a regular FT position and take a big pay cut. For my case, salary went back to the level 7 years ago. In other words, asking you to quit and find another job somewhere else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a little attention to the ability of your subordinates and pay them accordingly.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Your ability to serve customers and comunity is fun

    Cons

Promtion after the Acq of Wachovia is limited, and white males lcok down promtoion opportunites

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be truthful about your diversity and hiring! Where are the senior executives of color in the International Bank or Commercial Banking, or US Corporate Banking... The marketing to diverse professionals is good, but hiring, retaining, and promtion is not a truthful effort...
