    GOOD and BAD

ProsGood start for entry level, higher pay than other entry level jobs with no college degree

ConsA lot of detailed work and they expect you to sell sell sell but the commission is horrible.

Advice to Senior Managementteach your employers to sell properly and not with cheesy punch lines

It was a great place to work when I started but sadly not so much anymore.

    Web Analyst (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsThey do have good benefits although they continue to degrade a little every year. Good 401k match.

ConsThe culture has greatly changed since I started at Wells Fargo. The culture has changed because their are department who's employee's mostly consist of one particular culture. It used to be much more diverse but the scope is getting smaller and smaller.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere's really not much to discuss that any of the managers would care to listen to. If you are hired or move to another position within you should be really experienced because there is no training, or make sure the job has
definite hands on. I was moved to a position and told I would get proper training which I did not and had mgr's and leads who pulled the strings on how much hands on I was able to do. Bad training + no hands on = setup for failure.

    Sell sell sell

    Premier Banker (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsLots of experience working with diverse products and services. Including retail and investment products and working with personal and business clients. Clients make the work much better as you get to build relationships with the people you work with.

ConsOld fashioned polices make it difficult and get what you want in your region. Many times an employee will have the apply out of their market to advance their career.

Advice to Senior ManagementHelp foster talent on your team and create a transparent process for moving up in the company.

    Good company, but too large

    Business Systems Consultant (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsAutonomy in doing work, people are mostly cooperative. Woman I worked with was helpful in learning system. I worked on a database documentation project. The programmers were accessible, and provided a lot of valuable information about how the system and the reports were working.

ConsManager I reported to was in North Carolina, he did not speak to me much. He only called me a couple times on the phone, did not email me very frequently.

Advice to Senior ManagementTell your managers to communicate more with their direct reports.

Boys club only, deals / promotions made during happy hour.

    Bank Teller/Lead Teller (Former Employee)
    Mill Valley, CA

Pros-financial stability, good benefits, pto, sick leave etc
    - if you're interesting in relocating you can find a place to work in nearly anywhere
-clear expectations of your job requirements

Cons-INTENSE sales pressure, monthly, weekly, hourly
-they WILL break all ethical rules when it comes to achieving numbers (sales), and expect the lowest ranking person to take the fall risk when/if they get caught
-all boys club. unless you are ruthless about your career goals/ambitions, you will most likely not get promoted as fast or with as much money and enthusiasm as the men.

OK company if you can play the corporate culture game, you have a good manager, and you like some of your coworkers.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsIf the managers in your particular group are good, that makes all the difference. Some groups are characterized by hostile managers, but I've heard of groups with great managers who actually care about people and bring out the best in employees.

ConsOffice politics. Depending on your group, it can be a bit of a sweatshop. Hostile managers and coworkers are tolerated, even promoted in some groups.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not tolerate hostile, morale destroying managers.

Fairly decent company, enormous amount of bureaucracy due to federal regulations

    Senior Project Manager (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsHighly rated on the HRC Index so great company values, decent time off policies, fairly fun and friendly group of coworkers, ability to work from home largely.

ConsHorrible work environment, cramped work spaces, very little privacy between desks, promises of promotions that do not come through, low wages compared to industry averages, extremely excessive executive compensation

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to the industry, follow through on promises, improve working conditions in the office, train managers to manage people better, stop promoting engineers to positions of people management.
