    Customer experience vs sales integrity

Online Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsStrong company. Number one bank right now. Stability. Great pay. Even greater bonuses.

ConsAggressive sales culture. Almost predatory. Last time checked I'm a customer service rep not a sales banker

Diverse work environment with balance and growth

Information Security Analyst (Current Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsThis company offers reasonable compensation and benefits package, work-life balance, and a rewarding recognition program. Senior management makes an honest effort to listen to team member feedback and take steps to move the company forward. The company is large, and more internal and external positions are becoming available, which is a positive sign. Ongoing training and career development are available if the team member seeks this. Managers are supportive and encourage team unity. For the most part, we are working together in the same direction.

ConsThe last merger changed company values and shaved the work force and sent many colleagues into unemployment. Employee turnover is either high (sales field) or low (back office). For the low turnover departments, there seems to be a limited number of senior level positions so a title promotion might not be available until a senior level retires. Although the job site appears to have an increasing amount of openings, the current HR process is weeding out quality performers, which makes it difficult even for internal candidates to get interviews. Since this company is large, change happens very slowly.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook for rising stars and cultivate them. They may realize their potential in the presence of the right catalyst and develop into top leaders for the future.

ProsThe benefits are amazing. Moving up within the company is encouraged. Management provides corrective criticism to help you succeed. The company is customer service focused. Benefits are good too!

ConsYou are expected to work hard, and you won't be able to get everything done on any given day. The company tends to run lean, so you may be expected to do the work of two people.
