I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I was paid well for the work required from my entry level work to the officer work. Excellent training!

    Cons

They put too much emphasis on sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop pushing your staff so hard to sell the benefits Wells has for consumers. The benefits really do speak for themselves

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Comfortable, 40-hour week, 5 weeks paid vacation

    Cons

1 cog in a wheel of 300,000+ employees. Advancement very, very difficult - based more on seniority. I left to get a PhD in economics after feeling I was stuck in one place

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lifestyle is great. Was told directly that "to move up, you generally have to eventually move out." Which is pretty disappointing to think that successful work doesn't really get rewarded.

I worked at Wells Fargo as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    Intelligent, sociable, and enjoyable co-workers
    Work-life balance is excellent
A lot of resources for employes (free online training, health benefits, socials & networking events)
    Conservative bank culture

Overall the experience was enjoyable. The people and culture were the biggest factor in my experience at Wells Fargo. Culture is relaxed and supportive. Many people are willing to help other team members if asked. Good exposure to technology used within Wells. Great name for the resume as well.

    Cons

Work may lack challenge and stimulation
A lot of down time —may feel unproductive for prolonged periods
    Compensation feels subpar

Many interns felt under-challenged. The work and projects were very easy. As a result, there was minimal learning and a lot of free time. However, this is a great opportunity to network and take the initiative for your own projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase compensation
Hire better talent to create synergy and motivation within teams

    Pros

Strong company. Number one bank right now. Stability. Great pay. Even greater bonuses.

    Cons

Aggressive sales culture. Almost predatory. Last time checked I'm a customer service rep not a sales banker

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
