I worked at Weyerhaeuser as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Good pay. Relaxed job. I was a summer intern and learned valuable skills during that time.

    Cons

Sometimes a little slow and not much to do. A lot if sitting inside a cubicle on the computer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Great management team.

I have been working at Weyerhaeuser full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people to work with. All the ideas are considered and valued with an open door policy. Everybody works together to get things done.
The opportunities are there if you want to work for them.

    Cons

Benefits are getting cut every year even though profits are up. There is a definite class separation between hourly and salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TRY GETTING MORE TRAINING PROGRAMS. BRING BACK THE BONUS.

If you work in Federal Way, it's probably a good place to work. Not so much for other locations.

    I worked at Weyerhaeuser

    Pros

Good benefits and pay. For the most part they treat employees well. Room for advancement.

    Cons

Bureaucracy. Big company mentality. Lots of layoffs. Lots of favoritism. If they can't see you in Federal Way they can't figure out how to work with you.

I have been working at Weyerhaeuser full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great environment, flexible. Lots of room for growth.

    Cons

A lot of older mill "mentality" that can be hard to circumnavigate at times. The environment is changing, but if you are not used to it, it could be a challenge.

I have been working at Weyerhaeuser full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Wonderful people, great safety culture, everyone cares about each other and it's a beautiful place to work.

    Cons

Like any corporation they are beholden to their shareholdes and as a result I have been through many rounds of layoffs. It is stressfull when it happens and hard to see your coworkers leave. Afterward it can be difficult to pick up the slack but you do.

I have been working at Weyerhaeuser full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Like the culture, people and short commute. Love my job supporting SAP. Believe in the mission and goals of the company and am very impressed with emphasis on safety for all workers, employees and contractors.

    Cons

Not a technology company and does not adopt new technology trends as quickly. It is mainly detrimental to my type of career as I don't get to use the latest operating system (Windows XP on my desktop) or new apps as quickly as I'd like to. Leadership mentoring and career advancements are not plentiful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is tendency to be slow to adopt new ideas and trends. Inject more urgency in decision-making and not get mired in bureaucracy.

I worked at Weyerhaeuser full-time for more than a year

    Pros

opportunities galore with Weyerhaeuser Corporation...enjoyed the relationship building with co workers and customers. Still have relationships with both..... Value selling seminar was invaluable...

    Cons

Political game playing caused uncomfortable daily interacting with management. Dis-liked having to walk softly around someone that had no clue about management skills.....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be mentors !!!!!not bashing and detrimental to the progression of young enthusiastic employees..
