    Change Is Sometimes Not Good

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee  in  San Francisco, CA
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CA

    I worked at Williams-Sonoma full-time

    Pros

Over several years, enjoyed the established and responsible practices in the finance area. The comradery and ability to handle pressured situations says a lot about the capabilities of the group.

    Cons

As management changed over the last few years, the ability to provide guidance and consistency to a professional staff has deteriorated. Have some backbone, and stand up to senior management when pressured to veer off course.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Run the company as a professional publicly traded corporation, and don't bow to the day to day sales pressures to suit the current retail merchant led organization.

I have been working at Williams-Sonoma full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I love the caliber of the teams that I work with, people with great ideas and initiative. The leadership team welcomes new ideas & feedback. I feel like I can contribute and make a difference here. The products in all the brands are quality and beautiful and the company is constantly focused on sustainability and making products responsibly, this makes me proud. I love using my discount.

    Cons

We could make a bigger investment in technology and in payroll.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the investment to advance our technology. Make the investment in payroll in the early months of the year.
