    I worked at Windstream full-time

    Pros

    Decent pay for the work

    Cons

No room to grow. In general there are only lateral moves to be made there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, don't just hear them.

I have been working at Windstream full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My team is great and that is about it

    Cons

Just about everything else. Upper management is useless.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management should care more about the people filling their pockets and less about saving money not giving bonus's anymore or weak 25 cent raises. I felt like I was working in retail.

I worked at Windstream full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

As part of the Central team, I'm very pleased with the management team amassed under Jeff Howe. Competitive salary to the market. Easy to understand comp plan. Very fair ramp plan for new hires and lots of development. If you are lucky to enough to end under Chris Nein, Forrest Knueppel specifically- they are doers, and understand the sales process.

    Cons

LOOONG interview process. 3 months for me. Integration is slow and painful. over 2 years now of minimal movement to integrate systems. Lots of talk up top about goals, but minimal action. The network is being overhauled after years of neglect. Good for future of the company, but very painful for both customers and employees in the interim.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No more talk about what you are going to do... just do it. you are going to lose a lot of revenue and kill your brand if you don't figure out how to keep the network running asap.

Former Employee - Specialist I: Enterprise Data/Voice Technician

I worked at Windstream full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The work is challenging, everyday you are loaded with back to back orders to complete for the day.

Working on the latest technology and learning/training on new products.

A good support system, I've worked with a lot of smart people over there and they were always ready to help or assist at a moment's notice.

    Cons

If you show that your competent and able to pick up the new products quickly, they will add on more responsibility which is great, but never an increase in wages.

If your not in sales, it can feel that they don't appreciate your work regardless how much part of the sale you are a part of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop letting the top push down the ideas into the teams without consultation. Start by doing informal meetings on a team level, allow ideas to flow freely on how to improve productivity, streamline business processes, and allowing some parts of the day to be done more efficiently. Don't just listen though, take the best ideas and give them a trail run and have one of the team members record and analyze the results. This will give a transparent feeling to the team and allow them to tweak and make adjustments as they go along without bringing every minor issue to management, this way you allow them to edit the raw data and present you with what you need to know.

    Pros

I enjoyed the team that I was on. In Harrison, AR it was one of the few decent employers.

    Cons

Family matters. Incompetent people were promoted due to their family ties within the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Watch personnel practices more closely. Promote on the basis of talent, attitude and performance.
