    I worked at Windstream

    Pros

Good benefits and competitive wages for the areas they serve. This company really seems to have their head in the game when it comes to the Telecommunications Industry.

    Cons

The downside was that I got laid off from my job because they shipped Tech Support overseas for a while. Then about a year later they brought it back to America. Talk about a waste of peoples jobs and their own money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have reapplied with you several times because I think you have a great company but you dont seem to ever call me back.

I have been working at Windstream

    Pros

Good compensation and benefits for this area.
Direct managers have been supportive and flexible.
Office environment is casual and friendly.

    Cons

Communication between work units could be better at times.
Compensation increases don't appear to be performance related and are generally pretty small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increased career development would be appreciated. I've been here 5 years and have not been given a clear understanding of what to do to move forward on my career path. Each year my review is pretty much the same as the previous year with little guidance regarding what to do to move up to the next level in title and salary range.

    I worked at Windstream

    Pros

Windstream has a good corporate culture in which employees feel valued and appreciated. I had a fantastic supervisor who knew how to make our team not only extremely productive, but feel really good about the role we played within the organization.

    Cons

As with any large corporation, one can 'get lost in the shuffle'.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employees... they make you look good!

    I worked at Windstream

    Pros

    -Flexible work life balance
    -Great benefits for new employees
    -They do what they say

    Cons

Didn't stay long to know the downsides but I could say these
    Lack of communication

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees as your assets. Lack or no communication is bad for any credible relationship and that is true for employee and employer. Employees shouldn't find things about the company from outside sources. I would rather have it from the management STRAIGHT.

I have been working at Windstream

    Pros

In the wireline industry, there is no better company to work for. Our financials are strong, our leadership is driven and out goals are constantly being obtained. Windstream is certainly rewarding and fair. A degree was important, but the lack of education never held me back from advancement.

    Cons

It is located in rural markets, and the corporate office is in Little Rock Ar.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on taking this company to the next level. Assure your employees that you are in it for the long-haul, not just a sell-off.

I have been working at Windstream full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers and supervisors; management is supportive of career growth and respectful of work-life balance. Work is interesting and varied.

    Cons

I'm not sure I trust the management's vision for the future of the company. It feels like every year the management says we're about to turn a corner. Also, every year there's a new gimmick: Last year was a corporate culture initiative, this year is a new intranet tool.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
