I worked at Wipro full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

All the support guys in Findley were great to work with.

    Cons

My boss at the time said that the customer(Marathon/Speedway) wanted me off site . I was assured this was not a layoff and here I am unemployed. I was never given a reason and I was supposed to have a yearly review never happened, exit interview and that never happened. Never given AD permissions to perform my job.
They needed a scape goat and I was it.
My advise would be if you are a serious IT pros avoid Wipro, Marathon and Speedway.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

You will get chance to learn work on multiple projects...don't have to butter ur managers that much..

    Cons

Salary , growth , time off and the list goes on ..they will press hard to deliver without thinking of employees personal life balance .. No promotion unless you oil your manager and do his work ... Stupid ucf exams ....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to match the expectation of your employees ...pay them a little better ...give them fair rating and carrier groth ...ask your manager to do their actual work without delegating their own task to others

I have been working at Wipro full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

For the most part leave you alone to do your work.
    not many others.

    Cons

All the focus is on meeting the SLA's hardly any focus on getting the job done right.
Mandatory testing (UCF) that generally has nothing to do with the job/role you are actually doing.
Upper Management is completely disconnected from the employees under them.
Not willing to adapt to the cultures of the countries they are working in.
    No real opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the talent of the people you have and focus more on the work then just ticket shuffling from group to group.

I have been working at Wipro

    Pros

Work is laid back and relaxed. The manager doesn't hover over your head all the time.

    Cons

Its difficult to trust in a company which gives you plenty of promises and not a lot to back them up. The first of which the promise if a very tempting salary, however after you sign the papers, you find out that the salary is actually split into a base and a "bonus" category; of which bonuses are awarded on a quarterly basis.

The next issue is you are not told that the first quarter working for the company, you do not see any of that bonus. the bonus for the 1st quarter will be give by the end of the 2nd quarter. That was never made clear during the interview and frankly it almost sounds like a cheat.

The other problem is that company red-tape is very arduous. Rarely anything gets put through unless you nag consistently, and even then you are not guaranteed to get what you need.

Finally, the atmosphere in the company is, "Don't get comfortable". Most practically do not have an assigned desk. It gives a sense of uneasiness as you spend some time wondering where your place in the company is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a clear separation between employees and upper management. Only direct managers have visualization on the upper management, and this leaves the employees feeling uneasy.

Cut down on the propaganda and splashscreens that change every reboot trying to convince employees of the great work culture. There is a power separation, especially between the US and the India headquarters. Almost nothing is certain.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Hmmm... Management is absentee?
You are left to your own devices.

    Cons

    1) Never met or was contacted by my supervisor who is located in Bangalore, India.
    2) Internal help with any part of their extremely confusing portal and required documentation non-existent.
    3) PTO process laborious at best
    4) Did I mention the complete lack of communication for any questions?
    5) All upper management is Indian and seems to stay that way (it is, after all, an India-based organization

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Help someone get answers! Improve the process!
    2) Have supervisors at least welcome a new employee on board.
    3) Explain what is expected from the employees.
