    Professional, hard-working environment

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWorkday's SaaS-based software is innovative and is gaining customers in human resources and financial management markets. Employees are very positive about the company and the customers. The environment is usually collegial and cooperative. A professional atmosphere is emphasized.

ConsMany employees started working together at Peoplesoft (now Oracle) and it is difficult to have the same rapport if you don't have that background. There is an emphasis on having experience with human resources and financial management markets even if that isn't your primary job.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should seek to value diversity in terms of employee background. It would be nice to see a greater variety of experiences.

    Brilliant motivated genuinely good people

    Education (Current Employee)
    Pleasanton, CA

ProsThis company is going to make a lot of people very comfortable, the technology and innovation is literally bleeding edge, nice work-life balance

ConsLimited equity-small pre IPO offers, very poor benefits, sub standard wages

Advice to Senior ManagementPay raises are absolutely an imperative or you will begin to lose folks, also more shares would make a difference particularly for those who have been here for some time

    An excellent place to work

Associate Test Automation Engineer (Current Employee)
    Pleasanton, CA

ProsThere is definitely the opportunity to expand one's knowledge and skill set, and explore other opportunities with other teams within the company.

ConsThe nickname here is "Workday (And Night)," and it's very true. There is definitely a cliquish ex-PeopleSoft mentality as well.

Advice to Senior ManagementI hope increased salary packages are in the future if the company goes public.

Hard work, good people, even better product!

    Education Consultant (Current Employee)
    Pleasanton, CA

ProsIPO this year is a very good reason, great product, cutting edge, we sell a superior technology, product, and service. SaaS is the word!

ConsMinimal benefits, no raises in years, hard but fun work, insufficient recognition.

Advice to Senior ManagementCut lose some of that stock, can't take it with you, we who have been there for years deserve more equity participation. We work without raises hoping for a nice payoff in the IPO.

    Interesting company to work for

    Product Manager (Current Employee)
    Pleasanton, CA

ProsWorkday is truly re-inventing how ERP systems work. Having been in ERP for 10 years, there is the opportunity to make business processes more efficient utilizing object modeling. That coupled with being SAAS makes for some interesting work.

Workday is really telecommuter friendly; they don't care where you work as long as you are available and you meet your deadlines.

I do believe the founders of the company want people to enjoy where they work. Lots of company events, a couple of game rooms, and people joking around make for a good environment even with the high workload. (The CEO does expect you to work). Certain departments are more stressful than others.

ConsHealth care and 401K options are disappointing; I've had better at other companies this size. Also the corporate culture can wear on you over time.

Advice to Senior ManagementRe-examine the health care benefits. I feel strongly that we are not getting the best value for what we pay.
