I have been working at World Travel Holdings full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I liked the training. It can help a great deal and does determine where you are when it comes time to pick schedules. During wave season there are lots overtime and mandatory overtime

    Cons

You are constantly reminded (almost hourly) where you are in the sales arena.... When you cannot really control if you make a sale or not. I am doing fine in this area but to be reminded so often is annoying

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although it is nice for management to be a cheerleader it is a bit overdone. Also, you should consider the amount of $$$ a ccr is bringing in not just how many bookings.

I have been working at World Travel Holdings full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Potential to make good money. Freedom to work from home. Travel discounts. Great co-workers.

    Cons

Long hours during busy season, January through April. It can be difficult to make a good paycheck during the slow season, September through December.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work-life balance is a big problem for those of us with a family. The bottom line is what counts, I get it, so I don't see this changing anytime soon.

    Pros

Travel Industry if you are traveler is fun to sell by nature, work from home is a perk for sure.

    Cons

Hard Closing Sale, Micromanaged like nothing I have ever been through, and I have been an executive and have trained managers to be managers in corporate world...this is where they loose the good ones.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Way too aggressive on the calls....

I have been working at World Travel Holdings full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Ability to work from home, flexible scheduling for non-agents, fun and friendly co-workers, plenty of training available, great product offerings, travel discounts

    Cons

The company loves to talk about creating loyalty. Unfortunately, they are not loyal to their employees. The pay scale is WAY below average and almost insulting for the combination of experience and education they request, along with their drawn out hiring process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I truly believe the owners/CEOs are good people, with good hearts and good intentions. I would urge them to consider rewarding long-term and top performing employees. I don't mind a heavy workload if I'm being paid fairly but please don't take advantage. Also, please provide a clear career path. No one knows what is a promotion, what is lateral, etc. We want to work hard for you, as we love the company too -help us!

    Pros

There is so much support while going through training. All of the resources are very easy to find. The calls are not what I am used to having worked in the contact center industry for 24+ years. Meaning, they are so much easier than what I am used! The coworkers are great. I am so pleased I accepted this position and love my job.

    Cons

Honestly, the only con I have found is the schedules change every 3 months. I'm flexible so it's not an issue with me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. I am very pleased with my job.

I have been working at World Travel Holdings

    Pros

Everyone is super supportive and very pleasant. The management style is great as they do not micro-manage. They value team work and have done a wonderful job of making a virtual position not feel so lonely.

    Cons

The work becomes a bit mundane and there is little opportunity for advancement. A bit more flexibility in scheduling would be great as the shifts are all full-time and it can be tough to continuously sit at a desk for 8 hours straight.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe you could incorporate a position where agents are allowed to sort of "jump in" and pick up a few calls or hours without being locked into a set shift. I do understand the need for coverage, hence scheduled shifts, but this role would be one that is available part time in addition to regularly scheduled shifts

    Pros

Open door to leadership teams. Constantly striving to get better and do more for employees to stay engaged and happy.

    Cons

The pay is below market average it seems for middle management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to encourage employees to think more about what else the company could be doing and how to dominate the market place.

I have been working at World Travel Holdings full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

WTH is the largest cruise company in North America, and the travel business is a whole lot of fun compared to some of the other jobs I've had...Where else can you have a real work at home opportunity with a well established company that sells a "Real" product. I have friends that work for banks, insurance companies, cable companies - not much fun there! WTH has a six week training program that teaches you how to use the systems, sell to customers, etc. They have always been very good to me and the group of people that I interact with at the company.

    Cons

The Cruise business can be complicated. It's sometimes difficult to sift through all of the different promotions, resident rates, professional rates. The company works hard to keep everyone up to speed on industry changes. Everyone learns at different speeds, so ask for help if you need it. The time off policy has always worked for me, and there has been talk out there of a new system that is right around the corner to make requesting time off even easier. There are travel opportunities that we have access to that are not available to the public. Most of the time these opportunities are not free, but they are a great deal if you have the money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know alot of people who have won free cruises...I haven't won one yet...More free cruises would be nice! LOL

    Pros

good opportunity, benefits, raises, vacations, pto

    Cons

interview process isn't great. I spent all this time interviewing and waiting all weekend. Went through two very extensive interviews to get a generic rejection letter. Very disappointed that they couldn't even tell me why I didn't get the job.
