Great learning experience, but very political environment

Associate Producer (Current Employee)
Stamford, CT

I have been working at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time for more than 8 years

ProsIncredible learning ground if you want to become a TV producer. You are absolutely given the chance to sink or swim from a very early point in your employment.

ConsIt is a politically charged atmosphere, where sometimes talented people are held back because someone knows someone. Hard to move up.

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter communication from the top on down would be the number one thing to improve upon

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

A lot of Pros and Cons working at WWE

Planner (Former Employee)
Stamford, CT

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGreat benefits, medical, 401k match, stock options, tuition, etc. Depending on the dept, you work with a good team. Fast pace, always changing entertainment environment.

ConsThey don't know how to make a real profit so every year they lay off employees. They only give Directors and above bonuses every year, money that could be uses to save a job or two. They run you into the ground with work load (from cuts) and performance based raises only get you 2.5-10% raise, not much compared to your salary. Hard to get to the top when they hire upper-management from outside.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your worler bees better, give them bonuses. I was there for 6+ years and got one bonus. People don't feel like they are apart of the company, just the machine.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Stamford, CT

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time for more than a year

ProsSalary, keep frequent flier points, travel, people at the company are great, it is a few bad apples that ruin the whole experience

ConsNo regard for one's personal time. too reliant on emails to cover one's mistakes.

Not a bad job to start off your career, definately better places to work.

Associate Producer (Former Employee)
Stamford, CT

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment

ProsAccess to very good equipment in most areas specifically production. Learn the ins and outs of the TV industry.

ConsManagement is awful. Unfair and undeserved promotions given. They based promotions more on those who kiss a** rather than actual talent.

Advice to Senior ManagementRevamp your management in the production department. Very talented people out there and your producers don't have what it takes to cut it. Even if Shawn Michaels did endorse on of them on the air, doesn't mean he's a good editor.

No long-term potential

Sales (Current Employee)

I have been working at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time for more than a year

ProsCorporate, structure, decent benefits, ok work life balance

ConsVery, political, very cut throat, and senior management all seem to have their own personal agendas. High turn overs

Advice to Senior ManagementFoster and promote from within. This company seems to have trouble retaining talent.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I loved the people at WWE, but they do not understand the difference between home and work life.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at World Wrestling Entertainment

ProsBenefits, the people, the atmosphere

ConsManagement makes own decisions, changes are made and then have to be reversed. The lack of communication between departments makes it hard to get things done in a timely manner.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think that if WWE could find a way to not interfere work/home life and really took the time and reviewed the management team that is charge of each group, WWE would have been a more enjoyable time for me. I feel like overall I left with some good and bad thoughts about WWE.
