Good Company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide

ProsThe benefits were nice and they sincerely try to make you feel like you are part of a big family.

ConsThe management personnel should be trained BEFORE they become managers. Many of the managers have never been trained in how to manage/motivate employees.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good experience and environment for wide variety of careers

Financial Accounting Intern (Former Employee)
Parsippany, NJ

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide as an intern for less than a year

ProsEveryone is very friendly and eager to help you. A ton of opportunities to network and secure a full-time job. Not very busy at my job, short commute and good money. Good experience, doing the same work as the people working around you. I heard they hired something like 8 out of 10 senior interns.

ConsLooking for a certain type of person. I had an internship lined up for next year, but cut me loose because of some social media stuff.

Wonderful company, wonderful co-workers, great product

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide full-time

ProsI enjoyed my nearly 10 years at Wyndham Worldwide. All of my time with the company was spent in their timeshare division - Wyndham Vacation Ownership. I relocated to the Orlando corporate office for the organization and, and that process couldn't have gone better for my career and my family.

ConsThis is a sales organization, and those that perform functions outside of sales, are sometimes a bit envious of the perks and awards that sales reps can work towards. Things have changed a bit and now there are support department awards and recognition opportunities.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease the ability for non-sales employees to benefit from the support they provide to ensure sales have people to sell to.

What a great place to work!

Customer Care Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide full-time for more than a year

ProsWonderful supervisors who genuinely care about you and your life. I feel there is a very open line of communication in my office between employees and their supervisors. Maybe I was blessed with a good supervisor, but I genuinely enjoy working for him.

ConsIt's a stressful job. You get screamed at a lot, and it isn't for everyone. The pay is not amazing but it's fair for the level of work.

A good company

QA Consultant (Former Employee)
Parsippany, NJ

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide as a contractor for less than a year

ProsGreat work life balance as they offer flexible hours and it is only a 35 hour work week. Plus, some jobs can be performed at home some days.

ConsMost of the technical jobs go offshore.

Commissions! You have to sell to be successful.

Sales Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at Wyndham Worldwide as an intern for less than a year

ProsUnlimited potential earnings. Your commission on sales can greatly increase if you have a great month because of bonuses.

ConsIt can be a hard sell and the people you're selling to initially don't want to buy. If you are not one of the top selling reps you will have a dramatically lower number of people that you will be able to sell to, aka less opportunities to make a sale.

Advice to Senior Management"in-units" should not be tied to your VPG but should be counted as bonus

Good company with good benefits

Inventory Control Specialist (Former Employee)
Orlando, FL

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide part-time for less than a year

ProsThe offer a good pay and good hours. Each week had free food, seminars, and amazing offers. I personally took advantage of their vacation offers that allowed me to visit my choice of their properties across the world

ConsA little too informal. Computer systems obsolete - could really benefit from upgrading their computer programs

Advice to Senior ManagementBe better structured for your employees. Empower them to talk with you and help make the company better

A true hospitality company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Parsippany, NJ

I worked at Wyndham Worldwide

ProsLike the hospitality brand, Wyndham is a beautiful campus that is always looking to improve. People are friendly; the campus offers services like dry cleaning, car wash, grocery pickup, etc. The work is as fun as it can be, the hours aren't miserable, and everyone is supportive of your work-home life balance.

ConsWith that, comes a salary below many other industries. The salary and bonus scale is unimpressive until you are at a Senior Vice President level. There is no stock option opportunity for employees

Advice to Senior ManagementStay consistent with the brand-- the brand identity is the strongest thing Wyndham has to offer.
