Great compensation package - hourly+commission+tips, no experience necessary, entry-level, flexible with hours

    Cons

No communication with senior management - Front Office Manager (2007-08)

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great company reputation, which carries a lot of weight throughout the industry. Many perk follow when employed with Wynn not affiliated with the company based on the notable reputation that has been established.

    Cons

Very little advancement within the company. Minimal wages for jobs performed based on industry standards. The current position the company is taking based on recruiting is hiring from outside as opposed to hiring within.

    Advice to Management

I would advise management to put more emphasis in talent development so that internal promotion opportunities would increase. Additionally, re-evaluate the compensation plan by conducting a market assessment of companies within the industry.

    Pros

Beautiful resort, parking for employees isn't too horrible. I like what I do and somehow manage to work around all the impossible paperwork and constantly changing policies to get my job done.

    Cons

Uniforms in some departments are extraordinarily uncomfortable (actually painful) and make your job more difficult. No one seems to notice much less care. Management is all about keeping their job they do not care about their employees. Management shows up late, leaves early, takes long lunches, but there is no one monitoring them, ever. No sick days, they are completely inflexible with time off. Benefits have gotten worse and worse. Vision benefits are horrible, ironic? There is absolutely no advancement opportunities in most departments.

    Advice to Management

You need to stop worrying about being everyone's fake friend and start looking out for the best interest of the people that make your job easier. Work harder or at least as hard as your employees and you will increase moral immensely. I loved my job and then every day watching my bosses play favorites, walk in late, constantly put out fires they created has worn me down. I want to love my job again.

    Pros

People are friendly Lots of Work activities Good food for lunch.

    Cons

Unless you know someone in a higher position, don't expect promotions based on merit. It's mainly based on seniority and favoritism.

  7. Not a strong enough sense of improvement.

    Pros

Not bad for Vegas casino standards. Good variety of opportunities if you network well. Strong market position within Vegas.

    Cons

Hiring based on buddy system, not quality of candidate. Lack of accountability, people try to not get fired, not give their best efforts.

    Advice to Management

    Personal improvement. Not just facilities.

    Pros

Wynn is a great place to work because they do offer consistently. There is also an environment that fosters fairness.

    Cons

In my current position, there seems to be little, to no advancement possibilities. It also seems like the nail that sticks out gets pounded down.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep your job, then don't try to be a leader. Our two heads run the show their way and want kiss ass managers that will do it the way they want. Kind of sad, but its not a bad place to be if you can stay off the radar.

    Pros

Great place to work for as long as you are ok with a steady job that you don't have to use your brain.

    Cons

No real weekends or holidays. Many weird shift hours. Too many people working there to make you feel like management really cares about you.

    Pros

Wynn Las Vegas is the best hotel on the strip by far. I reach this conclusion by taking into consideration how clean and well kept the property is.

    Cons

Management. All of the supervisers and upper managment ( at least in my department ) all have worked with one another at other propertys. So the only way to get onto the managment team is to have been friends with them. Also, most of the time it's there way and thats the final decision they don't even consider employees thoughts even though many of us feel the same way.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. If 51% of them feel that certin things should be handled differenlty then you should consider making changes.
