I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

In desperate need of talent at all levels of the ITO organization, so there are opportunities to contribute. The brand still has some relevance and provides access to work with multiple Fortune 500 clients. Great experience is available to a committed technologist.

    Cons

Still struggling to digest ACS, a badly mismanaged company with disastrous internals and a demotivated staff. Raises/bonuses are not be had, and the leadership team doesn't seem to understand how deep the rot is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The middle managers throughout Xerox are complacent, self-satisfied and not interested in the drastic changes that will be required for the company to succeed. The ITO operations in particular use an off-shore first model that was fresh a decade ago and is simply unable to provide the capabilities this company needs. If the rumors are true ATOS just bought a very sick operation.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Seemingly good job security within sales division

    Cons

Nightmare go to market strategy, company pits different divisions against eachother so that I was competing against Xerox. Deep cuts to post sales support and client service has put a tremendous stress on sales to make up the difference. Xerox seems to be spending most of it's time finding ways to cut benefits to employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the roots of Xerox and honor the past by taking care of your employees and clients instead of just the shareholders

    I worked at Xerox

    Pros

Was there for almost thirty years and used to be a great company with awesome pay and an excellent culture.

    Cons

Shift away from employee satisfaction to cutting costs at the expense of people; both employees and customers. No raises, no support to do the right thing for clients. Laid off after 27 years of outstanding performance and reviews.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to Joe Wilson's philosophy.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Hours are good and sometimes you get off early.
    Coworkers help each other out.
Flex time allows time to fit in doctors appointments.

    Cons

You will never get a pay raise. If anything you lose money if you get a letter drop. Insurance is expensive. The more tasks that you know how to perform, the less you make an hour. It pays more to only do Entry. Verify and corrects and even quality control makes less. No Christmas bonuses. The last gift we received a few years ago was a $10 Walmart gift card- everyone got the same thing- whether you had been there's be day or ten years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit doing passive aggressive memos to the whole department. Start calling out individuals who mess up. When you do a department wide meeting/memo- they people who are messing up don think it applies to them.
Quit doing to piece rate or do piece rate but work in a system that gives you a pay raise each year. Example: still do ABC pay, but "A" pay based on 0-1 years, "A" pay based on 1-2 years, etc.

I worked at Xerox full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It's a good company with opportunities for advancement, and it will look good on any resume.

    Cons

The leadership within management is poor. Depending on the site you work, you may have to deal with a lot of unprofessionalism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to who you place in leadership. And, though you do a lot of surveys which provide you with feedback from employees, ask open ended questions to your employees about their leadership. So they can have a chance for their opinions to be heard.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Hours aren't outrageous. Most holidays off

    Cons

No pay raises, everyone starts off with the same pay anywhere from 9-10 depending on campaigns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better training, incentives, and hourly pay.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Well-known company and some positions can work from home.

    Cons

The longer you stay the further you get from a market-value salary. The only way to get a raise is to move positions within the company. OR quit and then get re-hired. Too much corporate infrastructure, RIF employees then allow a program like "Presidents club" for lavish vacations paid for by Xerox. Moved majority of US accounting and finance jobs oversea's to lower wages countries then claim its not to "save money". Every year there are RIF's and Furlough so that Xerox can "afford" to give raises "next year" which never comes about.
New management style is to demote people and then boast about how everyone is now in-line with market-value of their titles.
Zero work-life balance. Expected to give everything in return for the bare minimum of reward.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Retention programs needed for long term employees;
    Make work/life balance a priority
