I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

    Positive and encouraging work environment
-Ability to make change happen and see the impact
-If you're up for the challenge, there's so much to learn

    Cons

Moves quickly, which is great, until you're overworked and under-resourced

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't ever change the management style. But always keep an eye of ineffective and horrible bosses. These people will ruin what you've started.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Work-life balance isn't too bad when working on a Xerox account. Traveling to visit clients is always a nice perk, it definitely helps make my job a lot smoother when having the opportunity to have a face-to-face conversation with my clients.

    Cons

The pay is below state averages and all designers, regardless of their skill level and experience make the same amount. That makes us senior designers have low morale and not strive for more knowing we are held at the same standard as designers who are fresh out of college with no corporate marketing experience whatsoever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please follow through with commitments that are announced to employees and acknowledge hardworking successful employees more.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Great helpful coworkers and familial atmosphere, offices instead of cubes, good managers, lots of opportunities to learn new technologies, awesome work life balance

    Cons

Upper management very disconnected with engineering, core products are not exciting, low pay, lack of overall faith in direction of company, huge push for offshore hiring instead of hiring local, brain drain

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to engineers instead of only issuing marching orders, increase pay and benefits, hire good people locally, make Xerox a place people want to come work

I have been working at Xerox full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I loved the people. The pay was acceptable. The distance worked good for me. It was a fun environment at time and all employees got along. No major drama.

    Cons

The management treat you like children. They do not make room for life situations. If you have kids be ready not to have job if something major happens.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Let employees do their jobs.

  10. Awkward Teen Age Phase

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

The training is pretty good and there is still a commitment to training. And there is still energy and support around technology and partner branding. Xerox is still respected in the industry.

    Cons

Because the company is in the midst of changing its overall identity to a services solution, you can tell leadership is still trying to figure out what that truly looks like from a culture perspective. Like those teen age years, things are a little ugly, erratic, and a bit impulsive. Of course, this is in the name of change that was committed to the public investors to accomplish.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget about the workers in regards to treating us as colleagues. It's also OK to say "I don't know" instead of trying to convince us that things all under control.

I worked at Xerox full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It was available during a business down turn. The employees were pleasant and there was good comradery among the staff.

    Cons

No raises for six years. Senior management was only concerned with their own bonuses and advancement. Building was in terrible condition and may even be a hazard to your health.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take better care of the staff both in morale and compensation. Invest in infrastructure that supports the staff functions. Stop worrying about senior leadership and focus on your troops.

    Disapproves of CEO
