    ProsOffered a lot of personal growth and development. Overall culture was great with lots of emphasis on team building and challenging eachother

    ConsWages are not stellar but reasonable for a non-profit. Opportunity for wage increase with frequent reviews and good performance

    Great place does a lot for the community with what they're given to work with.

    ProsOpportunity to teach and encourage people how to make positive differences in their lives. Very flexible hours and the opportunity to get on-the-job certification and training. Opportunity to be active on the job. Great for students in high school or college. Great opportunity to learn teamwork and work dynamics.

    ConsDepending on your area of interest, income for most workers isn't the highest, but there are opportunities if you're willing to learn and advance. It's a great job for students, very flexible.

    ProsThe YMCA promotes a relaxing atmosphere for the members, as well as the employees. All of the employees were welcoming... Even in other departments!

    ConsThe only con I have to say is that the pay is minimal. I was paid just slightly over minimum wage with a college degree

    ProsGreat benefits. Positive environment. Plenty of room for growth. Plenty of paid training opportunities. Excellent networking and conference opportunities.

    ConsThe work is very demanding of time commitments including many nights and weekends. The pay is not very competitive but it is non profit so this is to be expected

    ProsI loved my time working at the YMCA, the management and kids I worked with were fantastic. I worked while I was a student and was able to schedule shifts around classes
