    I worked at York University

    Pros

York University has enough funding to support researchers and grad students to perform their research, but undergrad level is somehow disappoint me.

    Cons

Future career opportunities, competitiveness, student cultures.
Most under grad students are not focus on study.

I worked at York University part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very nice medical coverage policy, for dental and prescription, which is called CUPE plan.
Security of job and a good balance in the workload.

    Cons

Red tape: there are a lot of formalities involved and you have to plan for every move well ahead of time... My work was at times hindered because of the waiting for the approvals from management which could take months.
Another drawback is the campus safety which is a matter of concern.

I have been working at York University as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Paid well, nice people. We are given a 20k scholarship if you go in with an A average. If you are not, the tuition isn't that bad, unless you are an international student. If you are an international student, you pay triple the tuition.

    Cons

School was hard. Work-life balance was difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more funding to the stats department. We try really hard with what we have. They cut more funding because we keep trying harder to meet the goals, and when we meet them they cut it more.
