  5.

Interesting place to work at, with lots of customers, new fashions, but overall would not repeat. Read below.

I worked at Zara part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

+ Lots of attractive customers to converse with and look at.
+ Interesting fashion styles to be inspired by.

    Cons

    - Repetitive and mindless work (my brain felt like it was literally melting after a few weeks of working there).
    - Odd managerial structure that makes it difficult to figure out who to report to, who is in charge, who creates the schedule, etc.
    - In-fighting between managers/co-workers is obvious and makes it really difficult to stay neutral or do legitimate work.
    - Barely above minimum wages and the employee discount doesn't kick in until 3+ months of employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management really needs some basic training on customer service, employee management, motivational skills and just overall how to treat people. Some assistant managers really thought they were above others because of their title. Get over yourself.

    I worked at Zara

    Pros

Cool clothes, and meet a lot of nice people.

    Cons

Terrible discount (15%), which in WA is basically just tax. Scheduling was all about cutting hours, so coverage was almost always too light, not much room for a raise or promotion if you are in kids or mens department.
