    ConsOnce the company was unable to maintain the top line it started the progressive cost cutting measures that inevitably led to its closure.

    ConsLack of properly working equipment prevented us from doing our jobs quickly and accurately; upper echelon (read: head office) didn't care about us, all they cared about was the bottom line

    Advice to Senior ManagementToo bad you had to sell our souls to Target.

    Good Company to work for

    ProsHBC is a great company to work for because there is a lot of room to grow,learn and move up, if you are serious about your career and show it through your work. The people are friendly and you get a lot of opportunities to get involved in a hands on way, rather then just sitting behind a computer all day. Flex hours are amazing!!

    ConsNo benefits if you are on contract, but this is the norm for most places.

    ProsI worked with a very amazing team. They were very caring, supporting, and fun.
    Most of the customers were very kind, patient and understanding to the fact that we were closing.

    ConsTheir were some very rude customers. The wavering amount of hours given. Some of the systems were old school, therefore we had many technical problems with the cash register.
    Being short staffed at times when its rush hour.

    Pros- People were great to work with
    - Good work/life balance (I was part-time)
    - You learn necessary soft skills (problem-solving, teamwork, communication, etc.)
    - The store wasn't busy to the point where everything was in chaos (aka things were handled pretty well)

    Cons- Some co-workers were lazy
    - Promised to get trained on cash but the training itself was quite sloppy
    - Understaffing occurred frequently

    ProsNever a dull moment, always something new to learn, never have time to get bored. The people I worked with made the work so much more enjoyable, time would fly by every day.

    ConsNights and weekends are not your own. Work life balance is always an issue working retail.
