I have been working at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Our Social Media Newsroom rivals any Television station in the area. We have the latest technology, the greatest team and a space to thrive and grow. Not only am I learning more about how to drive sales from Social Media, I am learning the strategy behind each post and how to narrow down very specific targeted audiences for our clients.

    Cons

Our Social Team is tight, so most people will know who this is, so I am definitely not throwing anyone under the bus. KIDDING - We have a great team - I could use a raise...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Win more Digital and Social Business, we want MORE - Love the wins this year. Keep them coming

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, insanely cool building, huge cafeteria with unlimited supply of coffee and soda - You'' be hyped up on Sugar and Caffeine all day. For reals

    Cons

The starting salary was very low compared to the other offers I got in the state. You do get a bump at 6 months and another at 1 year. Luckily I have 2 roommates to share the bills

    Pros

Such nice people! It makes all the difference to come in to work and be surrounded by such kind and fun people! We have so much fun, I feel like I laugh all day long. The managers are laid back and super smart, so I am constantly learning. The thing I love most about this place is the career growth. Having come in at an entry level, there is lots of potential for growth and they offer a lot of additional training!

    Cons

It does take time to get acclimated, it can be a little distracting being in such a fast paced environment and keeping up. And being around your friends all day can be distracting, but we know when we have to get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more patient, the entry level folks are new and learning.

I have been working at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I've never worked at a place that works so hard to inspire their employees. There are always motivational presentations, events and training to ensure the success of everyone within the agency. The clients are major players in the retail market and at Zimmerman everyone is an advocate. It's been a great experience so far!

    Cons

Overwhelming at times. There's always a lot going on and with high level clients, they expect perfection. It can be intimidating and a lot to take in as new grad, but I know this is what I signed up for being in the ad world.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give us some time to adjust. I think that 90 day period should be taken in to consideration to adjust and learn the ropes.

I worked at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I left Zimmerman a few years back due to relocation and after experiencing several different agencies since my departure I know where I really belong. I worked at Zimmerman when they were in their old office and talking to my former colleagues who are still with the company makes me very envious. Sounds like their new CEO and office is freaking amazing and having always loved their clients and people I've been chomping at the bit to get back in! The opportunity is looking like it will present itself when I return to South Florida. It's comforting to know that the people there recognize real talent and give former employees a second chance.

    Cons

When I was there, it was a lot of long hours, but that didn't change at any other agency. Clients are the demand, not the company. Zimmerman puts their clients first, as should any agency and they will stop at nothing to make sure the job gets done. Which can be scary, but the mature and seasoned people in the industry know what it takes to succeed. Work hard and play hard. I always remember lots of play at Zimmerman!

    Pros

Working for David Henry! Zimmerman's Strategic Marketing and Intelligence department is crazy cool! David Henry is super smart and innovative having been at Burger King Corp, he brings some real quality to the table. All of Zimmerman's executives have so much to offer and I am just blessed to be in their presence and learning underneath them all! As if the client roster isn't enough to pull you in, the people will!

    Cons

Pay could be better but the hard work is always recognized and I don't doubt I will be compensated once I have more experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many titles, I don't think people are defined by their title and some of the sentence long titles that the execs hold are a little silly and not necessary.

I have been working at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Young, vibrant, exciting place to be. The culture is great, leadership gets things done, work life balance is great for an ad agency. Very attractive people and smart! Real family environment within each department and great clients to work for. Lots of opportunity.

    Cons

The young entry level people can be dramatic and lazy. They complain too much, which I guess is a generation thing. But they just want it all and they want it now so they think they are owed something. Well, I put in my time, I paid my dues, I worked my butt off and for that I have accomplished my career goals within the company. Zimmerman gave me the tough skin and work ethic I have today. I think the college grads just have trouble accepting that they actually have to WORK in order to get what they want. And no this does not happen over night, it takes years and lots of consistency. Relax people, this is the real world, you will get used to it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mold your people into what you want! If your department has high turnover, there is probably something YOU could change. Not every department has high turnover, mainly media, which most people just aren't cut out for and the college grads who have no idea what they want and end up in media need to really understand what the job is. So management should just be honest during the hiring process on what it takes to succeed in the role.

I have been working at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I've worked at Zimmerman a while and it's always changing. I have made some great relationships here and even better relationships with our clients. Zimmerman has really turned a leaf in my opinion, new building, new CEO and much better work life balance. Zimmerman is flexible, and I think HR has really done a lot to make sure everyone is taken care of. It did used to be like a sweat shop but with the clients it's hard not to be busy 24/7. Much better now then in the passed, that's for sure!

    Cons

Picky managers, when it comes to new additions they can be a little too picky. Yes, I know we are looking for the Rock Stars, but come on it's intimidating being on the candidates side, and most people are nervous! Give em a chance!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make new people feel at home and not intimidated, we have so much to offer, we don't want to scare them away!

    Pros

Lots of fun activities, cool work environment, never a dull moment.

    Cons

Entry level salary, demanding work environment, lots of constant change. It's hard to see clients come and go, would be nice to keep the existing ones and add new ones instead of losing some and replacing them with new accounts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase entry level salaries, listen to your employees. Let's see what the new CEO can do.

I worked at Zimmerman Advertising full-time

    Pros

Worked with great people and an awesome client. Learned a lot and grew professionally. My supervisor always had my back.

    Cons

I was recruited by a company out of state and it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. My only advice is to look at the salaries verse benefit costs. That was a big factor in me accepting the position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at benefit costs and review salaries. There is a lower cost of living than New York but people still need to eat.
