ProsFlexible work schedule and hours, bank holidays, and competitive pay. I'm on a well-assembled team who really enjoy working together, that really makes all the difference. Extremely competent executive management.

ConsHealth insurance is quite weak compared to other employers that I've worked for. Like most companies, there can be a good amount of political back-biting that goes on, but you just need to tell yourself to rise above it.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage greater cohesiveness and collaboration within and between departments. Zions has some greater competitive advantages in its footprint that can lead to some great growth in the future.

ProsDefinitely customer service oriented and isn't as sales heavy as Chase or Wells Fargo. Mid-level managers are amazing.

ConsHealth benefits aren't great. Lots of overlap in responsibilities make it difficult to know who is in charge of what.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider reorganizing duties of different areas, but thanks for being fun to work for.

Prosquality of people
laid back environment
Don't have to work too hard to keep job
Bosses don't micro manage
Customer friendly

ConsLacks innovat
Tough to share ideas and collabortate
Tough to move up
If you work hard you don't get noticed by promotions

Advice to Senior ManagementLeadership basically does their job and leaves you alone to do yours. Leadership does help when help is asked for or needed. Not a place that is committed to big changes.

ProsAs a introductory teller, it is nice to work up to the 1000.00 in bonuses you can get within your first year, by doing some extra training it really pays off for a poor college student. You get thoroughly trained, and constantly, management is competent and great to work for.

ConsAt my current branch, I do such a good job, management wants to see me in that position forever. Haven't been able to grow too much, because of the intensity of being the only teller during our time-frame at the branch (although others are suppose to pitch in and help up there, it can get pretty intense).

Advice to Senior ManagementGreat company, have appreciated the opportunity to learn many good things. Have felt very restricted at times in my particular circumstances because of the limited FTE that we have for our branch in particular, it can become crazy especially on monday's and friday's being thee only teller.

ProsBenefits were great. Even part time tellers had access to full benefits from day one. Management was decent enough. They attempted to show a lot of respect to the retail employees. This may have been simply because they know that tellers are the first people customers see so they'd better keep us happy.

ConsNo real stepping stone for tellers to advance up in the ranks. Only tellers that had 3-4 years of experience had a shot at the next job. But who wants to work as a teller for 4 years???

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate an environment that encourages employee to pursue a career with your bank. Everyone knows that in order to get good promotions and advancement you have to change banks. Be the first bank to break that mold and aggressively hire from within.

ProsFlexibility, good people, ethical bank. It is the largest bank that is headquartered in the area and this size creates more growth oppurtunities for advancement. It also has a strong reputation within the community and people respect the name.

ConsVery conservative, not enough bonus oppurtunities. There are some expectations to volunteer on your own time that are almost made mandatory by executives.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen you promise something to employees, keep that promise. Also- Make sure that volunteer oppurtunities are understood to be completely voluntary and reduce the pressure. George Hoffman is not a good choice for a leader on the executive team.
