    Pros

    Free Food, perks, great people

Zynga doesn't innovate anymore...Layoffs have also affected the moral of the entire team.

Not the best gaming company but a great analytics company, good for college pass outs to have fun and burn midnight oil.

I have been working at Zynga full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fast paced, Lots of benefits, good for someone who is just out of college

    Cons

Numbers driven rather than Tech/Fun/Design Driven, which is essential for a gaming company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

improve work-life balance, focus of having Fun rather than numbers. The company is supposed to be a gaming company not a Analytics based company. In that case change you are not connecting the world through games anymore.

I have been working at Zynga full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Works on great technologies as being a gaming company have to. Work-life balance is not an issue. With the new CEO company is moving to become a mature MNC. People were great but not now. Although hiring is going on which have attracted some great people to the company.

    Cons

Rewards are not as per the mark. You might not get rewarded for your hardwork if you belong to some game whichi is not doing great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make more planning and build games in India as well instead of just transistioning dying games. Also hire some better PM , all PM's currently are of no use although they are from IIMs.

    Former Employee - Product Manager
    Former Employee - Product Manager

I worked at Zynga full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - For Product Managers, it's basically boot camp. Don't plan to stay long, but you will learn a ton while there
    - Very rigorous a comprehensive on decision making and analysis
    - Go in with expectations that you won't have much work/life balance and things will be okay
    - Operationally, very efficient, great infrastructure
    - At least back in 2011/2012 - you genuinely felt like all teams were staffed with some of the best in the world at what they do (and for those that weren't - they still aspired to be the best)

    Cons

(Depending on studio, the environment would vary greatly)

The Game Designer opinions have traditionally been steam rolled by stats/PM - hence the games generally lack innovation. The stats have a higher probability of moving a metric, however those optimisations rarely lead to a better experience in the long run

I worked at Zynga full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great perks
    - Awesome office and facilities
    - Generally fun-loving employees

    Cons

    - They cut back bonus in 2013
    - It gets very political across the company. Lots of finger pointing, lack of accountability, and individuals or groups trying to hog credits when it's not due

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Don't get bogged down in analysis paralysis. Lots of PM are really good with analyzing trends and data at zynga to generate expected revenue insights. But to make great game, you need relentless focus in (often times) non-quantifiable efforts such as innovation and creativity.
    - Enforce accountability in each department by not having double-dip P&L responsibility with shared support functions

I have been working at Zynga full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Access to real-time data really strengthens the decision-making capabilities. Resources available to do job and perform well. A lot of flexibility given to employees. Lots of great perks (food, gym, dogs, fun building). Fun work environment in a fun building and great city location.

    Cons

Constantly plagued with reorgs and leadership changes, impeding on team building opportunities and career growth. Bonuses aren't regular or completely transparent. Losing a bit of the work hard / play hard edge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We need more excitement from our new CEO.

I worked at Zynga full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I was one of the first 300 employees and was upwardly mobile for quite sometime
Bonuses, perks galore, travel, stocks as hiring bonus....

    ...(which split 4 times)

    Cons

Never got the raise and the title I was promised once they went public!
I was told that because I had real stock then that was considered against my wage and that I should feel lucky! It was a hiring bonus in lieu of not being paid market!!!! Disgruntled

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management at Zynga was like a revolving door of Egotistical jerks after my original manager left.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T CONTINUE TO TRY AND FIX IT!!!!

I worked at Zynga full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company had a great culture and great benefits. Was there 3+ years and during its best years it was energetic and exciting (those days are no longer).

    Cons

Politics, Inappropriate Managerial Level Ups, too much focus on quick-win Quarterly OKR achievement and the premium placed on quarterly level-ups made longer term planning impossible and irrelevant. Also, I watched first-hand, decisions made which hurt their customers in order to squeeze an extra $.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It's a marathon not a sprint.
