Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Reno, NV

    Pros

Full Time Employees get a good benefit package. Supply catered meals at month end. Low stress and employee friendly dress code. Very good at adding experience to your skill set.

    Cons

Long hours due to month ends. Low pay for skill level needed. Hard to advance into staff positions. Most policies reduce the chance you would want to make it a place for a career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the pay scale to keep qualified people in house. The cost and expense of constant retraining new employees and temporary workers is not a long term solution to business success.

Current Employee - Team Lead in Pleasant Pr, WI

    Pros

Overtime and experience(you learn a 3 peoples job) to get better opportunity elsewhere.

    Cons

management is horrible, you have to be managers or supervisors "buddy" for you to get a promotion, no good relationships, they talk about temp workers like disposables and fired lot of arvato employees this year to get temps.
arvato employees haven't got a raise since 3 years ago. senior management are rude and don't bother to see the potential neither your resume even if you their job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

senior management are rude and don't bother to see the potential neither your resume even if you their job.
need to have committed people not temps. you treat them as temp they'll treat, they won't care about your product.

Former Employee - Computer Programmer in Weaverville, NC

    Pros

    Pay can be decent
They are looking into expanding into new areas of business to offset their reduced replication business

    Cons

Managers are reluctant to give pay raises, and some are rude
The media replication industry is on its way out

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please learn how to treat your employees with respect. I can't work at a company where my manager disrespects their subordinates on a regular basis and irresponsibly handles projects. Hire the right people, pay them properly and treat them well and stop making cheap decisions, you're only ruining your competitive advantage by cutting corners

Former Employee - Purchasing Manager in Gütersloh (Germany)

    Pros

You get all the benefits that a big corporation has to offer.

    Cons

Super political. Upper level management only playing games in order to increase their power. Very clique oriented...either you are with the "in" crowd that is quickly promoted or you aren't.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop restructuring every 2 years and put in some upper level management that are there based on merit instead of who played the political game best.

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in Venlo (Netherlands)

    Pros

    Most co workers were nice.
    Salary was okay and average.
    Training was great.

    Cons

Per 8 hour shift we were only allowed a maximum of 7 minutes to go to the toilet and get tea or coffee. Problems with computer system almost constantly crashing and freezing up.
Having to take notes in wordpad. Also being told that if the computer system does this just ignore it and continue taking calls anyway. We had to log it in later. Also sometimes not being able to take short breaks or lunch due to many customers calling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice would be please do something about your servers. So that you can offer the best customer service possible. Also please do not treat us like robots. And please be more trusting of employees as they will work harder when they know they are being appreciated.

Multinational environment, good trainings, technical backstopping available, normal business working hours.

    Cons

Middle management is childish, distrustful of and uninterested in employees.
Salaries are on the low side.
Hardly any fixed contracts are awarded anymore.

A company without logic or reason that follows its master (Microsoft) blindly

Current Employee - Transactional Specialist in Dublin, Dublin (Ireland)

    Pros

    - good as a first job
    - handy thing to put in your CV - arvato at Microsoft
    - great, fun co-workers
    - nice relaxed atmosphere
    - great canteen (but that's because it's MS canteen)
    - job itself is quite interesting

    Cons

    - annualized hours (you get time off when it's quiet to bank hours, and then work 12-13 hours a day with no extra compensation, including weekends sometimes)
    - long hours (like working 12-13 hours for 2 weeks straight in the busy periods)
    - terrible pay and no chance for pay increase
    - HR is horrible - you better keep track of your hours and pay, because "mistakes" (always in favour of employer) happen all the time
     - no parking for employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - start appreciating and rewarding people you have
    - instead of employing masses of ramp staff, use the staff you have better
