comScore is smart but not perfect

    (Current Employee)

ProsTop notch clients- top notch co workers - learning a lot - a company with a lot of bright people- I really like working for comScore- even if I have some very big cons.

ConsLong hours- low pay and client expectations are not set correctly. No one ever tells a client no. Speaking up is not welcomed. You feel like things aren't open and available to most people. Little to no room to advance.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow people to speak up- a lot of great people are at comScore - let them shine.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great place to learn about the digital space.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLots of great and intelligent people who are passionate about changing the digital landscape.

ConsThere is a fairly regimented promotion schedule that doesn't always reward people for strong work, but rather keeps everyone on the same level based on time at the company.
Pay doesn't match other Bay Area/Silicon Valley companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo more to keep top talent

    Interesting Company

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Reston, VA

ProsGreat product, niche market for the products and services that they offer. Incredibly valuable to customers, and companies that utilize comScore data to make business decisions. Very much a self-directed work environment, not alot of clock watching from management. Easy to move up the ranks in some groups. They love to promote from within.

ConsManagement can be a little overbearing at times, from the top down. CEO is a bit of a control freak, "smartest guy in the room" syndrome, though often he is. Internal promotion is nice, but historically had not always been based on merit as much as tenure and as a retention tool.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep innovating, remember what made you successful as a small company. CEO needs to release the reigns in many areas. Delegate better.

Better than any college education in understanding the competitive internet environment.

ProsWork/Life balance good for pay. 1st year already travel

ConsA growing public company with high performance goals allows for growth potential but quite a bit of stress.

Advice to Senior ManagementA strong network of mentors for career development is a must have for the near future of comScore. Other firms in the industry propel the direction of their employees with a strong set of resources.

    Life and times at comScore

    (Current Employee)
    Reston, VA

    ProsVery intelligent, bright work force.

ConsSalaries are below market in a very expensive area to live.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to maintain small startup culture. The 2% matching on the 401(k) is pitiful.
